In the box, was a delicate looking jade bracelet. Mo Ning didn't know much about jade, but she knew enough to know that this was very expensive.
It was very translucent, and the green of the jade sparkled in the sunlight.
She searched in the box, to see if there was a note, and sure enough, there was. On the note was a sentence and initials of the sender. It read:

Seeing those initials, made Mo Ning want to vomit blood. The sender was Chang Mingkai. He was a married man who she met once at Star entertainment, her previous management company. He seemed to be a shareholder there, but she didn't know much about him, save that he was a business man.

They both spoke like the person being discussed wasn't present, seeing that her manager had offered her as an offering on a silver platter, Chang Mingkai didn't see any reason why he shouldn't accept an invitation to spend time with a pretty lady offered to him so he accepted. She could only get out of the place that day, because Bai Yaran had called, and Mo Ning received the call, and pretended to have received news that something had happened to her mother, so she apologized and left.
Till date, Mo Ning suspected that that was one of the many reasons, why her company laid her off and seeing this gift confirmed her suspicions. The words on the note sounded like a generous offer, but she herself knew it clearly that it was a threat in disguise. She wondered what he would do.
She knew he was obviously trying to render her hopeless, so she would come running to him when she could no longer hold on.
