Chapter 4 - A fight?

As Ian prepared himself the pain in his left arm started to dull. Percival and he were standing barely 10 feet apart neither making a move until Percival dashed forward and slashed down, Ian instinctively lifted his new weapon up to black it but upon the blades clashing Percival was thrown back in a flash of light. Everyone squinted their eyes at the flash and upon opening them Percival was on the ground the weapon shattered in front of him with Ian still standing weapon in hand.

"What just happened?" He asked dumbfounded as some people went to check up on the now knocked out knight.

"He's unconscious." One man said as more groaned they were hoping for more of a fight but even more were confused by the spectacle which had just occurred.

"It seems you do have some talent hero." Arthur said intervening as people carried away Percival.

"What did you say your name was hero?" He asked looking back at Ian as many people listened in keenly.

"My name's Ian, Ian Gillespie." Ian replied as his arm got more soaked with blood.

"Hmmm Ian... follow me you'll need to get that checked." Arthur insisted as he reached for the blade still in Ian's right hand.

"Wait-"Ian started but when Arthur's hand came close to the blade it started to glow again almost defensively.

"Maybe you'll have to bring that with you." Arthur replies To which Ian fully agreed. There was so much he was confused about, what was that voice he heard? And how did he draw the sword from the stone it was supposed to be Arthur's blade.

As the two reached a room Arthur ushered away the guards and shut the door.

"Ok first thi by a first put this over your wound it's not fatal but it is deep so it will bleed a lot." Arthur instructed. Ian followed the order setting the blade next to him so he could focus on his wound which suddenly spiked with pain.

"Ow! Geez..." Ian winced as he held the cloth and liquid to his wound.

"Ok Ian I'll explain everything to you now, to start the royal wizard Merlin and his mages summoner you to help us we've run out of plans and this was our last hope so we summoned the one person who could help us. Which happened to be you and so far you haven't disappointed, first drawing the sword in the stone, beating Sir Percival effortlessly, and claiming to be the right hand of God you've set up a high standard." Arthur monologued.

"Yeah I don't know what came over me but I just hated Percival's attitude and wanted to show him but that only answers two of my questions I have one more." Ian inquired.

Arthur was curious. "What is it?" He asked.

"What was that with the sword earlier why did it react to both you and Percival one it shattered his blade and seemed defensive when you reached for it. Why is that?" Ian asked severely confused as he finished dressing his wound.

"I have two theories One that you have some sort and of magic that started the light or it was the sword ability." Arthur started getting deep in thought. " it's probably the latter because you seem to have no magical prowess."

"What do you mean by the swords ability?" Ian asked looking towards the blade again.

"The sword was forged to perfectly assist its holder with all of their abilities and weaknesses, so you must not be very strong and can take a hit if what the blade did is anything to show." Arthur replied.

"Yeah but in legend the sword in the stone is meant to be your blade not a summoned heroes." Ian muttered quietly.

"Wait by legend what do you mean we're you telling the truth about knowing everything?" Arthur asked surprised.

"No I don't know everything but I do know a lot about King Arthur and the round table as well as your adventures so I know enough to know that this is not what's meant to happen in history." Ian replied worryingly. "Well worrying will get us nowhere what should we do now Arthur?" Ian asked getting up and grabbing the sword again, it was still as light as a feather.

"Well for now we wait we have many battles ahead of us Ian and I believe you may be our savior." Arthur stood up and lead Ian outside and back towards the town.

So somethings not right that voice said this was a miracle and now I'm in the time of knights and King Arthur. I wonder what'll happen next? Ian thought excitedly as they walked towards an unknown future.
