It's parent company, Smoogle, aggressively enforces the trademark and patents that let them have absolute control over the industry and ensures no competition. Kurt Lane's entire life has been upended ever since leaving the military. The only thing he has going for him is his account in "The City Online" where he is one of the top-ranked players in the world. During the day, he hunts other players and farms their gear, and at night, he earns his real money, selling in-game items for real-world currency. This is his story.
