Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Answers Part II

Her eyes finally met his and she stood up, "I do not understand." He raised his brows, impressed by her concern. With the sun slowly setting, Ezra walked over to pull the crystallized panels closed from the balcony.

He could hear her heart rate increase and with a rustle of his hair he spoke calmly, "Well. Either that or she willingly left with a vampire. Half breed I presume." He rolled his eyes. "She's more than likely a vampire herself now or." He looked at her with a wide eyed amused expression.

"Or what?" Her innocence blinded her from potential truths.

He leaned back, "Dead of coarse." Shrugging his shoulders, she began to cry. Her tears startled him but then he sighed. "Stop crying, pet." He murmured.

She sat back down in the chair and covered her face with her hands. "That must not be true.." she continued to sob.

Why was she crying, he thought. He was beginning to feel uncomfortable and that annoyed him. "I said stop crying." He sighed into a growl that made her stiffen her body. Still sniffling, he changed the subject.

"Do you know what a pet is?" He asked. "You need to understand." He stated, watching her.

"N-no.." she stuttered her words, hoping that her dear cousin was still alive and well and that this vampire was lying.

"I don't know anything..about any of this.." she looked around the room until she left her gaze on him. "I don't want to be a pet." She stated for him to walk around the bed from the balcony and stop a few steps away from her.

A grin appeared on his face. "You don't have a choice, flower." He took one step forward, "I own you. You're my property." Each sentence drove a cringing pain further into her body. She didn't like it at all. He closed the distance between them by gripping her wrist with subtle force, "And you will obey me.." he lowered his voice to almost a whisper as he pulled her wrist to his lips, pressing them against her visible veins.

"You're my pet.." he stated, enjoying the slight jumps in her heart beats as he spoke into her wrist. "You answer to me and only me." His eyes darkened as he continued, "You give me what I want, when I want." He glanced at her to see her reaction to be frozen and unaware of what he meant. "Such innocence.." feeling the pulse from her wrist beat against his lips, he almost couldn't contain himself.

"I..cannot.." she began to squirm under his grasp as she realized but he kept the grip firm. His lips curled upwards, revealing a pair of sharply white fangs. "W-wait!" She pleaded.

A nerve in his body instantly pinched itself and he released her wrist, making her fall downwards to the floor. "Pity." He sighed, "I cannot drink from you unless you're willing. Do you not want to please your prince?" He frowned.

"I don't." Her words were strict but it made him want her even more.

"That's too bad. Your innocence is keeping you." He didn't help her up, instead he walked over to a painting to lift it up slightly.

"What is that?" She questioned, watching him.

He reached into an opening behind the painting to pull out a silver box. It sparkled slightly as the moon had finally settled into the sky and peered through the crystal doors of the balcony. "Curious?" He smiles playfully. He replaced the painting back into place and set the box on the bed. "Come." He demanded.

With hesitation, she stood up and walked over to the bed for him to push her to sit down. Looking at her for a moment, he then turned to open the box.

"Is that.." her eyes stared at what was in the box. She suddenly was overwhelmed with fear and hatred. She didn't want it, she thought.

He smirked at her and lifted her chin up, "You refuse to give me your innocence." He tilted his head at her as if giving her a chance to speak but she didn't. He pulled the object out of the box and stood in front of her.

"I will have to take it." He stated as he wrapped the collar around her neck and snapped it closed.
