Chapter 2 - One

This land was not always at war. There was a time when no one was fighting for the lands or the power it possessed. No one was trying to wipe away the history that it holds or the original creatures that walked it centuries ago. At one point there were only werewolf packs living among human's being, but even human's get power-hungry. The mortal began praying to the gods and asking demonic entities for powers. Some used it only for the benefit of others and to protect their kin, but others became obsessed with the powers they were given. The power went to their heads and drove them crazy. That's what happened to New Orleans. Everyone had forgotten who had been their first and who rose the lands to the city it was becoming. Witches now ruled werewolves once did and shoved the packs into the forests. While they didn't mind living among the river, their lands were lost to them and their history was forgotten. The witches' lust for power began drawing in new creatures and leaders who wanted to possess it and control those within the lands. Most don't remember how the wars even started, but the wolves do. Much like elephants the wolves never forget and so they tell the story of how New Orleans came to be, how the pack came to be and what happened that drove the wolves to the river's edge. Only time would tell if the prophecy of the old ones would come to be true and someone would save them from the battle that waned.
