Chereads / StarDuster - Glory of the Umbral Avenger / Chapter 14 - Back in Black

Chapter 14 - Back in Black

I received a message from Arch while I was sitting and crafting

- Hey, some friends of mine are going to be starting the game soon, I am currently caught in something so I hope you can give them a basic run down so they aren't banging two rocks together, thanks in advance. -

Well, I am currently bored and ready for another side track to my goal so whatever.

I'll head over there. It's not like it's that far

...

I'm a liar you know?

It will take at least an hour to the nearest teleport post.

Eventually I arrived...

I messaged Arch back.

- Hey, I just arrived at the starting town... what are their user names and are they here yet? -

After a few minutes, he responded

- They will be there in a hour, Names are Horizon and Cav. -

Cav... that's a strange name.

Well I got an hour, might as well finish crafting.

______

Alright it's been an hour.

I'm done crafting too.

They aren't here yet.

Well, here are my crafting results.

Full demon type gun, minus the bullets. It actually gives me the Dark Damage bonus that the demons did. It's now a cool Black and Gold rifle with red undertones. It's sorta shaped like an awp, but with sharp bits edging the sides.

I got a bunch of Alchemy material crafted too, suprisingly you can do alot to edit your body in this game.

Infact, you can basically make an item for every aspect of your charector.

Hair, skin, eyes, teeth, bones, bone marrow, organs, and you can even surgically attach a Mana stone to you.

Did I forget to recount the amount of loot i got from the village? Never mind, it doesn't matter. I got Mana Crystals and Demon parts.

So first things first. Grind some Mana Crystals into a power, mix with water, and bam. Some " Magic Liquid ".

Normally, it's used as a base for potions and such.

But I'm not normal.

I'm going to mix in powdered demon horn into this and give myself a tattoo.

Thankfully this game does it for me, without pain too.

The reason for this, is that this will allow easier flow of Mana through my body. Basically, my Mana that is being poured into Asi ... will turn from a small Creek, to a raging water fall.

No downside too, because I Regen Mana faster because of it. It's like a vent for Mana.

Next use for it, is to dye my hair. It will give me almost animated hair. I've seen some cool moving tie dye shit with this.

I just don't like my neon blue hair.

The new liquid I have, Wich I'll dub Demon liquid, will most likely result in black, red, or gold hair. Either of Wich looks nicer than what I have.

Alright, I got a red varient. Its a very faded red, Wich I appreciate. I don't want some neon bullshit.

Next is the core...

I took out a Crystal and swallowed it. I've heard this was way more effective than Surgery.

You have ingested Crystalized Mana |

Level reduced by 3 |

Stats now are using the Mana Crystal system |

I've heard about this too, at the cost of some levels, your stats are " Upgraded ".

It basically now muiliplies your stats by 1.1 when calculating for the stat's output.

Basically, if I had 10 Dex, it would count as 11.

Pretty cool huh?

Anyways, I'm done with stuff for myself.

I fused some crystals into the Demon Rod, and marked it with the liquid.

Upgraded into Magic Demon Rod |

Neat little upgrade.

That's all for now. Arch's friends are here now.

I approached them, ones a Paladin type and the other looks like a Necromancer suprisingly. What a rare combo to see. Both have very long hair, but I can't tell if they are girls. Does this dude secretly have a harem?

Me - " Hey, your Cav and Horizon right? Arch sent me, wanted me to take care of ya untill he gets here. "

Paladin - " It's unfortunate he can't pick us up himself, how do you know Arch? "

Me - " Well, I saved him from death once. That's about it."

Necromancer - " Well, I doubt Arch would need saving, but I guess I'll trust you for now. I'm cav and that's horizon, whats your name? "

Me - " Call me Cobalt, now have you two done the tutorial? "

Horizon - " Of course not, we expected Arch to teach us. Why would we need some tutorial? "

Oh, yeah they are definitely obsessed girls. This dude's got a harem.

Me - " Well, since he isn't here I'll give you a basic run down. "

Honestly, these girls are kinda irritating me. I don't know why. They do remind me of some earlier guild members.

Me - " Alright, do you know how to use the system at least? "

Cav - " Unfortunately, no "

Me - " Alright, so basically the system is kind of like Siri. You say System, and then you ask for something. Such as your own stats or to equip an item. Are you familiar with how MMO type games work? "

Horizon - " Of course we know about MMOs, we were top players with Arch back in Crusade Online before it shut down. Alright, I try this system thing out."

Cav - " I'll try it too. "

Well, it looks like they got it.

I made sure they equiped their gear, and I gave them a quick rundown on some useful tips. Such as Apples and Herbs.

Also, crafting stuff from enemy drops. I even helped them navigate the crafting menu. Necromancy sucks in this game but... she will figure it out eventually.

Unless she gets a broken build.

Huh, what would fix Necromancer.

The actual problem is that, despite being able to raise the dead, they always are level 1. Meaning that you can't use your main class feature well.

Actually, I think Summoner would make a good fit. In exchange for Mana she could keep specific skeletons up, and they will level with her. Limiting the amount for the effectiveness of the skeletons.

That's a bit of a tangent.

I escorted them to the wolves Forest, I had them kill some wolves and taught them how to make money. Ex. Selling materials and doing requests.

I also told them about how to upgrade their gear.

For me, sniper rifles have many parts. Such as scope or barrel. Since weapons don't have stats, it's all about special effects by changing the parts. So I replace bullets or the scope for special effects.

For the Paladin it's her sword. Meaning

Hilt

Blade

Grip

Talisman

Inscription

For the Necromancer, it's her staff Meaning

Base

Charm

Infusion

Sorry for going on a tangent again.

Anyways, it turned late so I showed them the Inn. Bought them a room, and one for myself. And then took a rest.
