"Eugene..." I whispered softly. I felt calm and at peace for some reason all of a sudden. I had never felt so easy when telling a hard secret to someone I didn't know, but for some weird reason I had it in my head that Eugene was someone I could trust. "Um... I don't know how to say this to you but, I don't have anywhere to go..." I said. "I came here to get away from my only home and I can't go back. I hate it there and I've been so happy that I came here because I've made friends and had freedom that I've never felt before, but now I don't know what to do." When I looked up Eugene was staring deeply into my eyes and he looked very concerned. The kind of concern you would give to a loved one. With a small breath he said, "Everly don't have to worry. I can let you stay in my apartment for a while if you'd like, I am here for you." He smiled so kindly and I could feel a huge wave of both relief and confusion come over me. "You..you will let me stay with you? Really??" I said. "Of corse. Everly you are in need, and I will not hesitate to help anyone that's like you." He said kindly. Ha, how did this situation go from a simple greeting to a dramatic heart to heart convo? We heard a noise and a young lady came out of the back with a basket of bread and milk. "Oh, hello there. I'm sorry if I interrupted anything." She said with a nervous grin. "Oh no you're fine! We were just...feeding this poor stray kitten who has no home." Eugene said almost as if it were a question. "Oh, I love cats! Would you mind if I take a look?" She said excitedly. "Of corse!" I said hoping that she would consider taking it because we both couldn't. " The lady bent down and looked at the cat and said, "Oh my! This kitten is so young! Does she not have a mother at all??" Eugene took over the conversation and explained that the cat was abandoned and that neither of us could take care of it so we've been feeding it. "Oh well I'd be happy to take it with me if that's okay with y'all!" Said the lady. Eugene looked back at me a smirked. This boy is so cute, I thought as I smiled back. After a few minutes the lady got on her bike and rode away with the small cat in her bag. I could see a look of sadness rush over Eugene as he waves goodbye to the cat. I could understand that it was sad letting someone take the kitten he saved by feeding, after all of it wasn't for him the poor kitty would die. I finally said, "Hey, it's okay. I'm sure you'll see may again. He looked at me and cheered up and said, "Thank you Everly. Hey is it okay if I call you Ev?" "Hah, sure!" I said. I think that I liked this boy. I was so relieved that I didn't have to go home or sleep on the streets because I wouldn't have gone home anyway. Except I didn't know exactly what my plan was for me to live there. I had very little money and was still looking for a job, but I had Eugene, and he was so kind so I would be alright for now. As we walked towards his apartment we had some laughs and got to know each other better. When we got to his apartment he showed me a spare room he had that I could stay in. "Goodnight Everly. I hope you sleep well." He said. "Thanks! Goodnight to you and hey Eugene?" I said as he started to walk away. "Yes?" He said. I took a breath and said, "Thank you for giving me a home when I didn't have one." "Of corse, to be honest, you're very sweet Everly and I'm glad you're here." Said Eugene and with that he smiled and walked away. Before I went to bed I wrote down a few things in my small beautiful journal. It was leather with a blue finish and beautiful Celtic symbols pressed into its cover that my mother said were drawn in gold ink by the leprechauns that made it. My mother was a very strangely wonderful storyteller. "Eugene's favorite place in the world is Scotland because of its amazing historic structures and monuments and also it's beautiful valleys and hills on its land." I said as I jotted it down with my very runny ink black pen. Sometimes when I scribbled something down the pen would leak too much and would leave a paint like black dot in my letters which made it look gross and uneven and it annoyed me so much that I would start over and lightly write. I am a major perfectionist too, I notice every little thing that is out of place even the slightest bit and I will go and do everything I can to fix it. Then I placed my book and mean pen down on my bed side table, and the pen made a click that was kind of satisfying and I drifted off to sleep. As my view became dark I began to see shapes and colors and then I saw a green rectangle that became blurry and then it transformed into a meadow with pretty flowers. Then I saw a blue sky with no clouds and I drifted down to where my feet touched the grass. It was very soft like a big pillow and then I stopped floating. I turned around to see what looked like a very blurry object. The object walked closer and as it un-blurred I could see the form of a human man and it was Eugene, but not Eugene. He had longer hair that fell to his neck and he was wearing a loose blouse shirt with a sleeveless leather jacket. He also had on a satchel made of black leather and he wore stockings over knee length leather breeches with dark boots. It's like he was from the 17 or 1800's or even back in the Victorian or renaissance eras. We were running together and I was holding his hand. Then he turned to me and smiled and I let go of his hand. He kept running and he got ahead of me. He started to fade into the meadow of green and he called out to me, "Everly! Come with me, I don't want to loose you!" I realized I was in a dream, but I've never had a dream like this. The dreams I have are way beyond weird and I can't even describe them because they make no sense, I guess I could say they're as weird as like the song funky town but sung backwards in Arabian where you can see floating sheep's driven by cars. Um anyway why was Eugene in my dream and most of all why did this event feel so familiar almost as if it happened?
