A month passed by in an instant.
This was the most busy months for the Empire in the past several decades.
Why?
Because the Empire is planning to launch a counterattack against the demons.
Armour, weapons, food....and many more things needed to be prepared for the attack.
Almost all the higher ups of the Empire were busy preparing for war, they even created an institute to specifically help raise Grant's power quickly using potions and stuff.
Of course Grant rejected each and every one of the products they created.
What a joke having read the novel, Grant already know about the so called 'quickly raise your strength without any side effects' potions that these guys created.
They were the biggest scam he had seen, trading lifespan in exchange for power? sorry but he isn't interested.
Only a fool like Tomoki will take the potions without having a hint of doubt.
"This is the last time I am going to warn you guys, leave right now before my mood turns sour."
Grant said in a cold voice as he stared at the people in white dress in annoyance.
"Hero this is the latest potion created by us, it will be able to quickly help raise your level and help the Empire in the upcoming battle, please reconsider!"
As if he didn't hear what Grant said the old man quickly started taking out several bottles with weird purple coloured potion in them.
"I said leave!"
Grant's annoyance was quickly replaced by anger as he waved his hand and directly threw out the dozen of researchers outside the mansion using magic.
The bottle of potions broke down into several pieces as the liquid inside them was ruined.
"You cannot treat us like this Hero!"
"Indeed we are only doing it for the Empire."
"Don't tell me the Hero doesn't want to help the Empire..."
Suddenly all of the researchers stopped moving as a fear gripped their hearts.
"It seems like I have been treating you all a bit too nicely."
Their bodies shuddered when they saw several crossbow being aimed at them from a distance.
"Wait Hero let's talk this-----"
"Fire."
*Shoo*
Multiple crossbow were forced at the same time injuring the researchers as they as they started running away for their lives.
Luckily none of them died but they were injured quite gravely....
"Let's hope that they will learn their lesson this time."
Grant looked at the researchers receding figure as he said in a cold voice.
"Next time they try to come in, kill them."
"Yes sir."
The guard captain said as he gave a respectful bow towards Grant.
All of the soldiers if the Ashdown family were currently extremely respectful towards Grant not only because he was the heir to the Ashdown bloodline but even more so because he was the Hero chosen by the Goddess as well as due to the power which he showed in the battle before.
They were the Hero's private army!
Can there be an honour bigger than this?
A shiver ran down Grant's spine when he saw the numerous stars shinning in the guards captain's eyes as he kept staring at him intently.
'Don't tell me he swings that way.....'
Grant quickly left the area and made a mental note to replace the guard captain later.
Staring at the Ashdown family's manor, Grant muttered in a small voice.
"I need to build my magic tower as well..."
A magic tower.
It was the sign of a Great Mage.
Only with a magic tower can a magician utilise his to the limits and beyond even.
But it takes too long to build a magic tower and currently Grant was too short on time.
"I cannot just order others to build it for me either, I will need to constantly keep supervising the construction of the tower or it will be useless otherwise..."
"There is also the envoy which came from the palace yesterday saying that the Empire is going to launch an attack at the Stella Fort soon....."
Stella Fort, the fortress which was previously under the Empire's control, it is a major strategic point for bothe the demon and the human race as the fort is literally the dividing line between the human and the demon's territories.
Grant grabbed his forehead as he remembered another problem.
"And for some reason my request to meet the superior dragon has still not be passed, looks like I will just have to sneak my way in at this rate...."
Grant released a sigh as he felt that things were getting a bit troublesome.

Meanwhile near Aion kingdom's border.
A pitch black monstrosity could be seen making its way through the forest, devouring any and everything thing which came in it's way.
Throughout ages this monster has been known by many different names.
Bringer of ruin, destroyer of cities, nightmare of the living.....
It's mere name was enough to scare an adult to death.
It was none other than the [Black Spider Of Calamity].

And currently this being was making it's way towards the massive source of energy it felt a while ago coming from a far away distance.
