"Disciple you are by far the most talented mage I have seen throughout my long life...."
Grant stared at Zerwa who was floating above his head.
"Your speed of learning spells is not something I can describe with words unfortunately....."
Zerwa continued in a sad voice.
"You only have affinity towards the four basic elements and that too of the lowest level."
Grant silently listened to her not making a sound.
"What is affinity? In simple terms it is the measure of how easily you are able to attract that particular element from the atmosphere, if a person has high affinity towards fire then he will be able to cast a tier five spell [Lave wall] with only 100 units of mana but on the other hand someone with low affinity towards fire will require 10,000 or even 100,000 units of mana to cast the same spell, it's not at all cost efficient."
"You have a humongous amount of mana but even so casting spells of tier 7 and above will be impossible for you...it doesn't matter even if you remember the chant and the process of casting the spell perfectly, if you cannot even summon the elements then it is useless."
With sad eyes, Zerwa patted Grant's head.
"Do you still want to continue learning magic?"
Instead of replying to her, Grant once again turned his gaze towards the book in his hands.
Zerwa released a sigh of resignation as she exited the library.
-------------------------------
For some reason Grant suddenly remembered what his master once told him.
'I know master it would be impossible for a normal person to cast higher tier spell with low elemental Affinity.....'
A sharp glint passed through Grants eyes as he took off his helmet.
".....But master I am no ordinary person."

"It doesn't matter if I have affinity or not."
Indeed it doesn't.
Grant looked at his remaining divine points.
"This is going to be my first appearance, I will make sure to burn it into the depts to their hearts for years to come."
From his storage Grant took out his staff.
Feeling the strong connection with the light crystal in the staff, Grant chanted.
"O Spirit of Light which looks over us, I ask for your Benevolence..."
Layers of light shot through the clouds.
"...Come down and release these poor souls from their suffering...."
A terrible magic Power descended on the battlefield.
"....and let them experience eternal bliss."
Grant pointed his staff towards the demonic army and continued.
"Light Nova"
A giant pillar of light descended upon the demonic army.
Cries of pain could be heard as their blue coloured flesh burn under the might of an Eight tier spell.
"Retreat!", Demon general Io shouted as he felt intense pain all over his body.
Around him he could see his men breaking down in pain, crying with tears of blood as their skin dried up.
He shot a hateful glare towards the man standing in the air.
Although he was a battle lover, letting him men die in vain was not something he was willing too see and looking at the unknown enemy he quickly decided to issue a retreat order.
On the Empire's side every soldier was dumbfounded unable to understand what just happened, when they saw the demonic army running away, a surge of adrenaline rushed through their body.
Right at this moment a loud shout attracted their attention.
"The demonic army has retreated!"
The man was none other than Cyric, currently his face was red with excitement, the power of his son was above and beyond his expectations, but he didn't forgot to do his job using voice amplification device he send out his message.
"We were saved by none other than the man selected by the Goddess, heir to the Ashdown family Hero Grant Ashdown."
"The great Hero!"
His 20,000 soldiers and the nobles under Cyric shouted out in unison.
The effect was immediate.
"The Hero selected by the Goddess!"
"Victory to the Hero!"
"Long live heir of the Ashdown family."
Like cancer it spread throughout the imperial capital, even the old Emperor was shaking in excitement much less everyone else.
Turning his head Grant looked down at the Imperial Capital shouting his name, moving his gaze he looked at his status.

Seeing the number of divine points increasing, Grant was able to verify his theory.
'Divine points increase the more the people revere me....'
'In a sense it is the power of faith.'

Queen of Gritonia Empire, Maria was standing on top of the watch tower, staring at the miracle happening before her with eyes full of reverence.
Hiding behind her was a little girl with features identical to her's.
"Lily come forward and witness the power of the Hero..."
With gentle movement, Maria beckoned Lily to come forward.
"Beautiful... ", stars could be seen in Lily's eyes as she stared at the pillars of light with unmoving eyes.
"Beautiful indeed my daughter...tell me do you think you can become worthy of such a great man."
Hearing what Maria said, Lily turned her head and stared at Grant who was far away in the sky, she couldn't see his face but just looking at his blurry figure was enough to make her heart beat faster.
"I will try my best mother!!", Lily shouted in a determined voice as she faced Maria.
"Good child...."
