On the instant Root ambushed Grant.
High above in the sky.
"That damn overgrown lizard!", The Goddess shouted in rage as she threw down the cup in her hand.
*Clank*
"Shit! how dare she ambush my Grant like that!"
Under the power of that detestable spell, Goddess was unable to directly teleport Grant back to her in heaven, if not for that spell then she would have instantly brought Grant back.
But the current situation didn't allow it.
Harshly biting down on her fingers, several thought passed through Goddess mind in an instant.
In no time she reached a conclusion.
'I can't summon him back but I can send someone there!'
The clouds in front of her gathered forming a screen, showing the figure of Mio who was currently in her way back to the Empire.
'She will do!'

The last thing Mio heard before the golden light enveloped her was simple.
"Grant needs your help!"
Those simple words were enough for her to not resist the foreign power and let it pull her.
And Mio was so glad that she did.
Because the moment she saw Root attacking the unconscious Grant.
A fire burned in her heart.
No words were needed.
The ground underneath her feets cracked before Mio rushed forward with a speed similar to teleportation.
Using her hand she confronted, Roots terrible attack and she managed to stop it.
*Boom*
At the cost of her left arm.
Seeing her arm explode into a bloody mist, Mio's eyes contracted, in the next moment a pitch black spider web came out of her right arm and attacked the confused Root.
Taking a step back, Root dodged the countless spider webs coming at him and then carefully seized up Mio.
"Who are you?"
Root asked with a visible frown on her face, for some reason Mio seemed very familiar to her, even though they have never met before.
While Root was thinking, Mio's left arm which was blasted into a bloody mist quickly regenerated at a pace visible to the naked eye.
Seeing the scene a name finally appeared inside Root's mind.
"Black Spider Of Calamity!"
Mio coldly stared down at Root.
Although she wanted nothing more than to treat to the unmoving Grant, the person in front of her gave her an unprecedentel sense of danger.
For the first time in her long life, Mio's senses were telling her to not underestimate the enemy.
On the other hand Root's thoughts were also quite similar to her's.
Black Spider Of Calamity.
Root scrunted her brows
'This will be troublesome.....'
Indeed with Black Spider Of Calamity's almost undying regeneration abilities, defeating her would be hard.
But in the end that's all it was.
Just a bit more troublesome.
Root released a deep breath before her eyes focused on the unconscious Grant behind Mio.
He must die.
Grant must be killed today.
Even if she had to go all out.
Without any warning a terrible pressure descended upon the place.

A beast like roar came out of Root's mouth stunning everyone, under their shaking eyes, Root's body underwent an earth shattering change.
Golden coloured scale covered her body, to three giant pair of wings grew from her back enveloping the sky, with two beautiful gems on her torso, a very strong and muscular dragon appeared before everyone's eyes.
It was the legendary dragon which faught against the Goddess herself for the supremacy of the world.
A monster divine.
The ancestral Dragon Of Heaven.
Myriad Colour.

The very earth trembled under it's immense might!
Being on the receiving end of the power, Mio couldn't help but take a step back.
But then the next moment her pupils dilated, pitch black, her mouth cracked wide open unleashing a disharmonious shout completely different from Root's majestic one.
*Screech*
Darkness spread out covering the world, at a shocking pace Mio transformed into the calamity which had haunted the world since time immemorial.
But even after transforming, Mio could only reach a third of Root's monstrous size.
The next moment the two titans clashed.
*Roar*
*Screech*
*Boom*
Two of the Black Spider Of Calamity's leg were cleanly sliced off, but they regenerated just as quickly.
Not too far away from the monsters, stood the injured Sofia and Lancer.
With eyes full of hatred, Lancer stared at Root, she was the reason for his revenge! but seeing her monstrous power first hand made a feeling of despair cover his mind.
'No! It's only because I have yet to absorb enough superior dragon! after killing the invincible shen I would definitely be able to beat her!'
Tightly clenching his teeth, Lancer controlled his shaking body.
"Hey."
Lancer turned his gaze towards Sofia.
"What do we do with him?", Sofia said as she pointed towards the unconscious Grant.
"The demon king definitely played with us! He dared to collide with Myriad Colour even after knowing about our hatred, there is no longer any reason for us to--------"
Lancer's words stick in his mouth as his gaze stuck to the unmoving Grant.
It was because he felt something.
Although it was very minute, Lancer definitely felt the aura of a superior dragon.
And not just one......
A glint passed through Lancer's eyes as he stared at Grant in shock.
Two!
He clearly sensed the aura of two superior dragons from Grount.
If he could absorb them......
Lancer's eyes unknowingly landed on the gigantic golden dragon.
'I might be able to win.......'
Lancer's palm tightened before he said in a cold voice.
"Kill him."
"Hahaha that's what I was talking about!"
Sofia waved her bastard sword before launching herself at Grant.
Countless sharp swords materialised in the air under Lancer's control before rushing towards Grant.
Even after two earth shattering attacks approached him, Grant's body showed no sign of movement.
*Screech*
But before they could hit, the Black Spider Of Calamity moved and covered Grant using it's giant body, taking the blunt of the attack making several deep wounds appear on its lustrous body.
How could Root let such a good chance get by?
A golden spear materialised itself above Root's palm before piercing straight towards Mio, making a giant gaping hole appear on her carcass.
*Screech*
Another screech was released from Mio's mouth, though it no longer sounded an intimidating as it did before, if anything it sounded a bit pained.
What took place after that was completely a one side battle.
Under the continuos attacks of Root, Lancer and Sofia, even the near undying regenerative abilities of Mio started showing signs of failing.
Plus having to protect Grant on top of that, was a nigh impossible task.
After hours of long battle.
Mio didn't know how much blood she lost.
How lost count of how many legs she lost.
Or how many times her body was broken through.
The pain number her mind, little by little she felt her body loosing control.
But even during all this only one thought covered her mind.
'I must protect the young master.'
It was no longer a thought.
But a desire.
A desire which moved every cell of her body.
'I must protect the young master.'
Unfortunately.
*Thud.*
It seemed like even the Black Spider Of Calamity had a limit.
With rough breathing, Root looked down at Mio, who had reverted back to her human form under their continuos attacks.
Her lower body was missing, with one of her eyes destroyed, she layed in the pool of pitch black blood staring at them with hazy view.
"Young master......"
A weak voice escaped Mio's dry lips as she raised her trembling hand and threw a spider web containing last of her powers at Root.
The attack was far too weak to deal any damage to Root, but after this long and exhausting battle it did manage to piss her off.
This time Root raised both of her hands, forming a humongous golden spear filled with terryfying powers.
"Die!"
A golden light covered Mio's hazy vision.
The golden light seem to remind her of Grant.
Indeed his presence which was like light itself, shinned brighter then anything she had seen.
"I'm sorry........"
Through her hazy vision his familiar back appeared before her like a fleeting illusion.
"......Young master."
Slowly Mio's only visible eye closed.
On the other hand Grant's eyes opened.
But unlike the usual bright ones, his eyes were filled with an everlasting........
Indifference.
