Humming to herself Briar watched with a smile as the water droplets clung to the flower petals. Gentle watering over the plants her face lifted up to the sky beyond the ceiling of the green garden. As the breeze passed over she watched as a small white butterfly fly over.
Staring at it in silence she let out a small breath as her vision flickered. The small white butterfly becoming species of white snow falling from a grey colored sky. As it flickered back to the clear sky Briar shook her head slightly to get rid of any of the haze.
Hearing the sound of loud voices her head turned to the shop's open door. Placing down the watering can she found herself slowly creeping to the door. Stepping into the back room the voices grew clearer as she neared the door leading into the shop.
"I told you, your visits were unnecessary." Briar's eyes widen in shock at the cold tone she heard coming from Kazuyuki. Her mind turning as she wondered who had made her gentle brother sound so cold that a child would cry.
"She is still my patient." At the sound of his voice Briar's face turned pale. A tremble present in her hands as she placed them on her chest. Trying to calm her racing heart.
"She stopped being your patient the moment she stepped out of your clinic."
"She's still not well enough."
"She's my sister."
All other sounds were muffled in her ears as Briar found herself small steps backwards. once her back hit the doorway to the garden green house her mind raced. Long flowing strands of hair dancing in the wind behind her as she ran. Heart racing as the wind blew on her face.
As she ran she felt a sudden sense of freedom. The familiar feeling of wind running through her hair. Running without direction her tired feet suddenly found her sitting under on of the large trees in the neighboring park. Breathing heavily she wrapped her arms around her knees resting slightly as she felt the sweat gather on her forehead.
With a sigh her head tilted upper ward, eyes squinting as she watched the rays peek from the cracks of the tree leaves.
"Why?" She questioned to herself as she tried to understand why she had run. Doctor Mikage had been nothing but kind during her stay at the hospital. He had been her savior who had found her that day, yet behind his kind eyes there was something that always made her feel unease. Staring at the eyes of a snake guarding its prey.
Frowning Briar pouted shaking her head.
Maybe she was imagining it. Doctor Mikage had never given her any reasons to feel this way. Humming to herself out of comfort the melody of a song that carried in her mind since she woke up at the hospital slipped out. The melody alone had become something so familiar, so comforting to her.
Humming a small smile crossed her mind before she turned her head startled at the sound of rustling. The bush in front of her shook slightly, a small sound heard from inside. Nervously she watched the bush shake clenching her hand before her eyes widen when the bush went still before a large snout poked out from the bush.
"Eh?"
In awe she watched as the snout sniffed the air before retreating back into the bush.
"A dog?" She muttered confused staring at the bush in silence. The bush shifted slightly before the snout peeked back out. Finding something about this odd moment amusing Briar couldn't help but let out a small laugh. A smile reaching her face as she found herself sitting on her knees a small distance from the bush.
"It's alright." She spoke out softly to the unknown animal. Reaching her hand out in front of the bush she watched as the snout peeked out more sniffing her hand before poking back in.
"I won't hurt you."
Waiting patiently in silence Briar smiled as the snout emerged once again. Sniffing silently before it slowly emerged more until a pair of eyes were staring right back into her smiling face.
"Hello there."
