"Alright, I'll show you how to do it."
Ran petted Fluffy's head as he spoke to her, making her tail swish.
"But… you'll have to pull your own weight afterwards."
Hearing his words, Fluffy's body stiffened before it started quaking. How could Ran say such a thing?
Pull her own weight? He wants her to do work!? How dare he!
Worse yet, it was a double entendre. Pull her own weight—was he making a fat joke? How dare he!
As the Almighty Fluffy, how could she take such insolence from her servant?
"Alright listen carefully…"
On second thought, she'll let it slide this time.
…
"Okay, why don't you try this time?"
After briefly explaining the skill, Fluffy's jaw almost dropped. How can such an overpowered skill be so simple? And how come she couldn't think of it?
She was, in fact, so dumbfounded, you could say that… a cat got her tongue.
Yet, it's simplicity excited her to the point she almost blew herself up with her own soul juice. Only when Ran invaded her body with his own juice, allowing him to see and guide her, did she not blow herself up.
And when Fluffy successfully filled herself up, an aroma radiated from her being. It wasn't nearly as intense as the man's himself, but it was there and the people around her could smell it.
It was very sweet and cherry-like, so it was bearable for most.
Now all that's left is for her to activate her soul avatar. So, just to be safe, Ran backed up a bit. Once she had the space, she immediately started.
Upon activation, the black soul juice within her spurted out, coating her body in blackened wisps.
But that was only the start. Once the environment was exposed to her juice, the snow melted and the grass underneath turned gray and withered.
Not only that, once fully covered in the black wisps, her body suddenly disintegrated into black smoke. Yet, in the next second, out of the snow behind Ran, her smokey body lunged at him.
Ran, who was surprised by the fact that Fluffy could just disappear, didn't realize that Fluffy had lunged at him from behind before it was too late.
With a big thud, she pushed his body forward into the ground, shoveling a ton of snow into his mouth. Then, she used his body as a springboard, where she dived and sunk into the ground, leaving no trace behind besides it melting slightly. Finally, a distance from Ran, she once again freely reemerged from the ground.
And… that was it.
However, upon releasing the skill, Fluffy couldn't help but splay her limbs as she laid on the pillowy snow, panting quietly.
Seeing how exhausted she was, Ran snickered a little as he went up to her. He guessed that she did indeed lived up to being a cheetah. And yet, knowing how lazy she was, he knew that she could probably go for much longer, but just didn't want to.
"That's so cool! What is it," he asked.
"Meor," she responded in a muffled tone. She was too lazy to even open her mouth properly to speak.
"You can move between shadows? That's… actually pretty generic."
However, immediately upon saying those words, he regretted ever muttering them. It was mainly because it ended up hurting Fluffy's feelings. She grumbled a little as she hid her face with her big paws, clearly embarrassed by his remark. How was she supposed to know that the power of darkness would allow her to move between… dark spaces?
"Cough, uh, I'm sorry Fluffy, I didn't mean it in that way. Look at it this way…" and he sat down with her, laying her sizable head on his lap.
"In a way, your skill is even cooler than mine. You see, I still have to take the risk and use up all my energy, whereas you just need to dodge into the ground. You can even sneak attack and save energy, unlike me."
Indeed, at least, his explanation did make a certain amount of sense, so she spared him a glance and allowed him to pet her head.
"Don't worry Fluffy, I'm sure you and your skill will grow much stronger," he exclaimed in resolution, and the look in his eyes reassured her. But, he didn't know just how right he would be.
For the two of them, all was well, but for the rest who had to witness this entire series of events, they felt everything was spinning. Both Ann and Queenie rushed at him like they had just seen an ice cream truck, while Bob followed silently from behind.
Ran, however, was too busy comforting Fluffy, so the sudden rush at him and shaking of his body by two young women sent him reeling.
"Ugh, what? What do you want!? B-Bob, help!"
However, Bob did not help. How could he? One was practically a beast in tight maid's clothes, while the other was a girl who controlled the power of fire. I mean, in the beginning, he had been very confident, especially when they had first met and they complimented his teeth. But, very quickly, all of that was poofed away. As such, he could only watch as Ran was ravaged by the two girls.
Even Fluffy, who had been busy "recuperating", was scared to help him. Yet, Ran was not stupid. At least, most of the time anyway. Everyone has their moments, right?
"Okay, fuck. If you wanted me to teach you, you could've just asked!"
In order to get out of their hold, Ran even had to use his sigil, and only then did he sigh in relief. But, he couldn't help but sweat a little. No matter how he saw it, it appeared that over time, these people were getting more and more fierce. What happened?
It even got to the point that he thought that maybe they were, in fact, stealing his own fierceness in his sleep. How else can he trampled over like this over and over? Could it just be that the author doesn't know how humans interact with each other, and was in fact, a mere couch potato?
But he couldn't let it go on forever. Now, within his heart, he vowed to teach them a lesson the next time they try something.
But for now… he was still going to teach them.
