Chapter 9 - Austin Parker

"You still didn't forget about him! " It is not a question it's a statement.

Abigail who was sitting and checking the menu went into a daze.

She still remembers that man's gentleness and warmth towards her. He treated her gently.  He always looked at her with a warm gaze whenever he was with her.

He accompanied her for many of her businesses. He defended her from many slanderings. When she was sick he took care of her. He never crossed boundaries with her. He waited for her to accept him wholeheartedly. When she accepted him and was about to tell him that she loves him, he disappeared.

Two years had passed since his disappearance. He didn't contact her or even come to see her. She tried to search for him but all her attempts were futile. She can be her true self only when he is around her.

She hoped to live with him forever.  She wanted to live with him until her hair turned grey but who would have thought that fate would be this cruel.

She cried many times for him. She cried when she couldn't find him. She cried everytime when she remembered the time spent with him. She cried when she remembered his warm gentle gaze towards her. She cried a lot of times. Her tears flowed endlessly. She spent many sleepless nights crying over him.

He was the one who showed her what love is. And also the one who showed her what pain is. The feeling of being in love was great. However the feeling of being thrown away made her weak.

Every day she felt like fate is mocking her. She didn't know who her father was. Her mother who loved her left the world. She only had the Kim family with her. Even though they love her like their own daughter it is different to be loved by a man whom she liked.

After thinking about it for several days she decided to let go of him. But she couldn't  because he was the man who had her heart. Even though they were together for a very less time, her feelings for him ran deep.

As time passed she concealed her feelings and started living her own life. However those feelings stirred inside her sometimes and made her feel uneasy.

Suddenly her eyes became hot. Tears pooled in her eyes but she closed them and calmed down.

She muttered "Austin Parker...."

She leaned back on her chair for a second. She pushed all her thoughts about him aside.

She wanted to forget about him. So she took her phone out and changed her wallpaper to her selfie.

She picked up the menu to see what was there to eat.

She decided to eat vegetable pilaf. She saw Rebecca was fiddling over what to eat.

Finally, the waiter came. Abigail ordered her vegetable pilaf. While Rebecca just started her list.

Rebecca ordered Olivier salad, solyanka, borscht, vareniki, salted cucumbers and salo.

Abigail frowned  'is she going for a war? Does she really need to eat this much? Sigh..... '

She thought.

Abigail didn't miss the indifferent look given by the waiter to Rebecca. She was still looking at the menu and finding what more to order.

The waiter's eyes got open wide. He looked at the Abigail for rescue. She felt his stare and looked at him. She saw his pitiful look. She grabbed the menu from Rebecca's hands.

"You have ordered enough. Now finish the ones you ordered now. If you want to eat more you can order again."

"Let me order more….." She whined.

"Stop behaving like a child"

Abigail turned towards the waiter and said "you can go and get the dishes"

After taking the order the waiter left gladly. He felt grateful to her and also, was astonished on seeing her friend's huge appetite.

He couldn't understand how she could eat all those. She looked so small and thin. He wondered where the food that she eats, goes.

He sighed and went to get the dishes for them.
