We left the keep as the other four wolves approached the castle. "It seems like you are already done here." One looked between us.
"Yeah, Rose and her new 'child' Ruby saw to that. We just caused chaos top the army starving out the keep." I nodded
"I think we need a plan for going forward. There is a lot of land beyond here obviously and the eight of us along with the women can only do so much. Shadow, you have acted as our leader, Alpha, if you will for a while. I think we should have this pack as an all alpha pack and split up to make our own packs as well. We can cover more area easily and will have more in numbers to help each as well as bringing all alphas together when needed." Blaze standing beside me spoke.
"That is a good idea. Let's go back to our keep and figure out where we will go.... the further apart we are the weaker our communication will be." I lead the way back as we all good full sprint enjoying the breeze.
"You may be ahead of us getting another pack together. Those nords that joined us have taken to the change. Only three died and two went feral so we killed them. The rest have been adjusting and waiting for you following Cyan." Halfway there one of them spoke up.
" I was hoping none of you would help them. Power changes people and meant it leads to their downfall." There rest of the way I remained silent wondering how to deal with them.
We were not back for even a minute before the nords converged on usa few of the wolves managing to slip out. Cyan walked up others moving out of her way as she kneeled before me.
"Master we have taken out oath and passed the test to serve you. What would you have of us." I stood silent and started at her trying to figure out what to do.
"We have things to discuss right now. Talk to me later and we will figure something out." The remained silent and moved aside as we went to the keep where the others who manages to sneak away were waiting.
"Do how did it go." Smoke laughed before I chucked a chair at him. Shane brought a 'world' map out and rolled it open on the center table in the dining hall.
"So where do each of us want to go?" Blaze gestured over the lower half of the map that included our kingdom. We each studied it making marks where unknown areas were or unexplored sections of land. One placed we agreed not to go near until we were ready is where the alchemists that used us were.
Smoke, Blaze, and Aero circled areas and made their marks of their choice all centering a lake on different sides. Small villages dotted the area but it was away from any larger towns. The other four went north east keeping their areas closer to each other as they were closer to larger settlements. Looking over the map I took an area to the north west. It was still closer enough I could aid our keep if needed. There was an unknown forested area that spanned the east of where I was to go that ended on what we assumed was a coast. The farthest settlement on the east side was to the west of my area putting my at the edge of known civilization. I quietly looked up as we finished.
"All of you be careful. If any of you need help call and we will come. Every full moon we will meet at the lake and see how things are going. I wish you good hunting." We silently looked at each before they left a sense of excitement building.
"What about us then. What are we doing supposed to do?." Vixen walked in after they left irritation in her voice.
"We recently took over a keep. Rose is there with Ruby. You women are free to do what you want. You always have been. If you really want you can follow us but living in the wild doesn't seem your style." I tilted my head as I grinned at her.
"You're right about that. We have been working on something for the wolves. We enchanted clothes that shift into collars when you turn them turn back with you do you don't run around naked. The only worry I have is how will we get ahold of you since we don't have the connection your pack has?" Her face remained expressionless.
" You can make a map of where we will be. No doubt you will have a wonderful in your area. Send them to the closest of us and we will come." She looked doubtful but remained silent as she looked over the map before leaving.
"If you see Cyan would you send her in." I called after Vixen. She made a gesture with her hand and immediately Cyan walked in bowing her head to me.
"When do you need Master." She said seriously.
""So you are all wolves then. Do you have a link to any of my pack?" I leaned over the table as I spoke.
"Only I do with the one who turned me. I was told how and turned the others so we are all connected."Recognizing the mark she pointed to one of the wolves areas to the north east saying it was him who turned her.
"That works out. You are connected with one in the east. I will be connected to you in the west. We have somewhat a chain of communication. I have a task for you and your people. Split them up into four groups and act as the guards and the link for the women who were traveling with us." I stood up straight.
" How are we connected tho?" She looked at me as I walked around the table.
"The same way you are to Canyon." My eyes went black as I bit down on her shoulder. Sweet blood rushed passed my lips for a moment before her wolf side healed the wound quickly. She let out a slight moan as I backed away.
"We will not fail you master." She immediately spoke thru the link before leaving. I exhaled loudly thinking that at least I will not have to deal with them a lot. I just want a peaceful life.
Leaving the keep I went to the hill side where my hut sat to prepare for my trip. On the small bed wrap popped in deer firs lay a hastily wrapped package. "Shadow" was quickly written on it and inner my name "Alpha set". I smiled as I added it to a burlap sack along with a few of the bars of steel from our old cages and some dried meat. Throwing the sack over my shoulder I wasted no time setting off in the direction of my chosen site.
Two days and night of traveling I switched between my human form and wolf form abiding the occasional traveler keeping to the woods near the road. The mental connection to the others growing fainter until I could barely sense the three that went to the lake and Cyan who I assumed were with the women by now. Feeling nearly alone in my own head as I neared my destination I decided to distract myself by making a log house similar to the ones I saw when I first met the nords. The only problem was I had no tools and no gold to buy anything. Sitting on a near by fallen tree I the thought of my options. All I could come up with is try to blend in at the near by town and see if I could find work and information on what is going on in the area. That would wait until tomorrow since it was already late.
