Zack stood looking over at the fading sun. Never had he seen such a beautiful sight, the beauty of the mixing colors seeming almost dream-like. Zack couldn't help but remember the day he left the human kingdom, the sunset looked just as brilliant then as it does now.
Zack could hardly believe that five years had passed. When Zack left the cave he'd taken the dire wolf cub with him, he'd decided that flying was the quickest way to escape the mountain and find food. Soon after he happened upon an old fisherman who was taking one of the mountain paths home. He killed the old fishermen and took his food. He felt nothing for the fisherman he kill, in fact he'd found the experience to be slightly enjoyable.
Zack looked over the side of the boat breathing in the salty air of the sea while watching the suns final reflecting rays dance on the water. Taking a final deep breath Zack grabbed his grimoire and flung the blood that still remained on it into the sea then he placed it on his back and walk toward the only living crewman and pulled a small hunting dagger.
Grabbing the man by his neck he effortlessly lifted him into the air and jammed the knife into his leg.
"Why," the man asked. "Why are you doing this to us?" Zack could see tears in the mans, they shined with fear.
Zack smiled, he had seen much of humanity's dark side. He knew it had changed him and not for the better, but he didn't really care.
"because,"Zack said still smiling. "I really hate humans." he said letting his wings and horns show.
The mans eyes widened to a degree that would normally be impossible. "Your a de...."Zack snapped the mans neck before he could finish the word. Zack had learned to use light magic to hide his wings and horns. For some reason he couldn't bring himself to like them, and it helped to get through the human kingdoms check points.
Zack dropped the corpse in the ocean and began cleaning the rest of the ship, tossing lifeless body's into the ocean and wiping blood off the walls and floors.
After cleaning Zack decided to take a nap in the captain's quarters. While lying there Zack thought back to the four and a half years of training he had put himself through to master his magic.
Thinking back now Zack could hardly believe that he had been a fugitive of his own country for five years. He had hardly gotten close to any one during his time in hiding, but he also never cared whether they found him or not, he figured he'd just kill anyone who did.
Mila nudged Zacks hand with her snout, whining innocently. "Attention hog." Zack said petting the dire wolf softly. "Aria would have liked you."
The rest of the boat ride went rather smoothly and before he knew it Zack was near the shore of the devils country.
