"Rule number one, under no circumstance are you to cheat on this test. this is to see what you know not what others think they know." the admin in charge of the test eyed every person in the room. He wore a black uniform that resembled something you'd see a military officer wearing. He stood with the regalness of prince and looked the part too, Zack wouldn't be too surprised if people came in calling him highness.
"Rule number two, you will not leave this room until all questions are answered to the best of your ability. And yes that includes bathroom breaks and meal breaks, we're all adults here I'm sure we can hold our bladders." some people began to fidget at this rule seeming uncomfortable with the thought of having to be stuck in on room without the ability to leave.
One man raised his hand, he was a short, thin man with average looks wearing a blue shirt and brown shorts. "How long is this test and how much time do we have to complete it" it was a question on everyone's mind, one that even Zack wanted to know the answer to.
The admin looked at the man and nodded his acknowledgment of the question. "we'll cover that but first the last rule. Rule number three no talking is allowed during the exam. Anyone caught talking will be removed and banned from taking this test again." the atmosphere of the room had changed in an instant. The air in the room had grown heavy all of a sudden, every applicant paying full attention now, not one daring to open their mouths. Zack wondered why such a light thing had such large repercussions, it seemed excessive almost paranoid. whatever the reasons were Zack had no intention of asking the risk seemed too great.
"As the test format, it'll be an essay, your prompt is any information you know about magic and its uses, even if you're unsure if its true or fake. You'll have five hours to write and finish this essay so do your best and take your time." the admin looked once more around the room then said. "Any questions," no one said a word. "Well let us begin "
The test admin walked over to a small box on one of the desk and opened it. He stood back then looked at the applicants. "Well do I have to spell it out for you, line up and get your materials." everyone quickly stood rushing towards the desk, forming something that resembled a line but wasn't quite there. Zack was the last to get his materials. These consisted of two pencils and three sheets of paper.
The admit waited until everyone had taken a seat and settled down before continuing. "Now that all test preparations are complete you have five hours with no breaks to take this test. Any rule breakers will be punished and removed from the testing room. Good luck applicants." With that, he left the room.
Zack looked at his paper. The test had begun.
