Joanna's eyes then fell on the guests, and she examined each one of them.
"Now, that's a handsome man, but he is too old," she commented towards Nicholas prior to shaking her head. Nicholas merely smiled awkwardly at that.
Then, her focus was on Adrian.
"He is a pretty boy but too young." She shook her head again.
Finally, she looked at Odette and raised her thumb in approval.
"Now, this is a rare beauty. Those sharp green eyes, the rare silver hair, fair complexion, and lean figure— I like her father. She is just like a doll. Is she going to be my new mannequin? Or am I going to have three of them?" Joanna's tone was filled with excitement.
The corner of Odette's lips twitched at those insolent words. Never was she treated in this manner. The rumors didn't lie when Joanna was called an oddity.
