Chapter 5 - The Fight

"Father, I apologise for being unable to attend the breakfast. What is going on?" Odette spoke out.

Odette Albinius was surprised at how clearly she remembered the contents of this day. Her memory was as good as if it had happened yesterday.

"It has been long this you had a personal servant and must be inconvenient without one. Therefore, choose a personal servant from those present at here," Damian vocalised— his tone holding power.

Wearing a bright smile on her face, Odette nodded.

The meaning of personal servant in Albinius family was different that in the other family. The personal servant is one of the worst position at the Albinius family.

The personal servants could be treated just like how the owner wished to, and playing— an alternative word for abusing— with them was one of the ways their owner's relieved their stress.

However, everyone turned a blind eye to that. Since personal servants were mostly slaves brought by the Albinius family, no one meddled into it.

The personal servants were made to believe that they owed their life to their owner, and if one were to be disobedient, cruel methods were used to make him or her docile.

"Oh!" she spoke out, "I do need a personal servant, Father. I have been too bored these days."

With those words, Odette took her steps towards the five children standing at a row, and seeing their state, she wondered how many of them knew what they were getting into.

After scanning through the children, Odette pointed towards two of the boys and vocalised, "Father, I want them both. Having one is boring. That's why, I want to take two."

This was what Odette had done in her last life as well. She selected two boys— Dennis and Adrian— because of how attractive they were compared to the rest. Their beauty tempted her in her last life. Although Odette's main point of interest was Adrian, she had some use of the other boy as well.

After she had finished choosing, she realized that both of the boys had been staring at her and had a clue on what was going on in their mind. Even though they were frightened, they were curious about the situation.

Laughter roared into the room after she had finished her words, and turning to face her father, Odette bowed slightly.

"Father, please allow me to have them both," she vocalised politely.

Odette tried to maintain the innocence she had when she was seven years old— which was much less compared to those of her age— in her voice and eyes. Her father tend to be someone perceptive, and if she was caught to be suspicious, things might not turn out to be well for her.

Damian Albinius was not someone who cared for his family or deemed them to be important. He merely cared for the stronger one.

Compared to her siblings, she was the one with the strongest willpower and strength. She was the one able to bear through his training and sadistic ways. Therefore, currently, she was the one with his favour.

Odette had a clear idea of how this position of hers was temporary. If any one of her siblings proved to be more powerful than her, then this position would easily belong to them.

But she was not letting them win over her. As she was on the top in her last life, she is ready to maintain that position in this life of hers.

"I have no problem with giving both of them to you. Let a fight be held between the two of them in order to determine the stronger one," Damian ordered in a domineering tone.
