Jeanette felt a throbbing pain spread through her forehead when she opened her eyes. The unfamiliar setting alerted her, and the memories of the previous night was a blur to her.
She recalled having a drink with Odette, and after that, the conversation that went between them was vague to her. But she remembered about exposing her feelings to Odette— the very deep ones that hardly anyone had a clue of.
Thinking about it caused her cheeks to burn in embarrassment. She then recalled how Odette acted coldly the entire time, silently listening and showing no intent to interfere. This made her feel further humiliated.
She expected too much from Odette.
Getting down from the bed, she inspected the cheap room. There was a hint of fear inside her. She wondered what Odette had done to her.
