Odette expressed her deep remorse and took her leave, giving the excuse she didn't want to disturb them further. The situation worked in her favor, and despite Jeanette's initial intention to humiliate Odette by inviting her, Jeanette wanted to get rid of Odette before she could create more problems.
Odette happily walked over to the carriage.
"Uhm, Lady Odette, thank you about earlier for protecting me," Emma softly said.
This made Odette face the girl with amusement in her eyes. She then stated, "There is no need to thank me. After all, I am the one who tripped you."
Odette provided her with no further explanation and got on the carriage. Emma had a baffled expression on. Nonetheless, she snapped out of it and followed after Odette.

Emma sat on the stairs, pondering. She tested her face on her palm. She was dismissed by Odette yet asked to stay close, so that she could come to Odette's aid as soon as possible.
