Chapter 2 - Chapter Two

A dark abyss. That's all Freya saw for miles, a cool wind blew her hair around and a chill creeped down her spine. She took a step forward. "Hello?" She yelled, her voice echoed through the dark. A blinding light emerged in the distance. She stared at it for a second and it started to move away. "Hey!" She called out and raced after the light. Her feet carried her fast, the light grew closer until it was in arms reach. She reached forward and grabbed the light. The light came from a small orb, Strange symbols lined the whole of the sphere. She traced her hands along the small device. "What is this thing?" She muttered to herself. She saw a small button type indention on the side of the orb. She placed her finger on the button and lines of bright light shot from the orb.

She turned around and saw soldiers, they all had red bands on their arms and guns in their hands. "Nazis" she said out loud. They marched in synch to a podium. A man stood upon them, speaking to the men. His voice was muffled and he seemed to be speaking a strange language. She squinted to try and see him better and her whole body shot up. In only seconds she was standing next to the man. The man was wearing a tan jacket with a weird looking cross on the left breast pocket. On his left arm he wore a swastika on a red band. He had a small mustache but it was trimmed on the sides. This man was Hitler. Suddenly she wasn't holding the ball. The sphere was in the hands of the man. He was controlling the nazis using it. She gasped and tried to step back. She tripped and the man looked down at her. He gave her a gentle smile and he stepped closer. His eyes burned with evil intent as he reached to help her up.

As he got closer his face started to mangle and bubble. "Jason!!" She screamed in terror and tried to hit him away. His face stretched and popped and soon his face molded into Jason... Except it wasn't Jason. He wore a black leather coat and a white hood with a point on the front. His eyes still burned with anger as the mans eyes did. Jason's smile faded and he took a step back. He flicked his wrist and a blade came out just barely reaching beyond his fingertips. He stepped forward once more and drove the blade into her abdomen. Her eyes widened as she looked into his eyes while he stabbed her. "Jason i-it's me, w-why?" Tears filled her eyes, he dropped her onto the floor of the podium. Once she hit the ground she jolted awake. Freya sat up, panting for breath. Her heart was pounding out of her chest, beads of sweat dropped down her forehead. She wiped away the sweat and look at her table at the clock. The clock read 6:00AM. "Uuuggghhhh" She groaned and flopped back on her bed. "That was a bloody weird dream," she said. "Glad that's over with." She sat up once more and hopped out of bed. She grabbed jeans and a shirt that were on her floor and raced to take a shower.

After her shower she got dressed and headed downstairs. Once she reached the kitchen she saw her mother cooking bacon and eggs. She wore a baby blue dress with a white apron over the front. Her hair was short but still reached past her shoulders and was made up in a small and neat bun in the back. It was sandy blonde with a bright blue bow holding the hair from her face. Her complexion looked a lot like Freya's. Her father sat at the kitchen table in the middle of the room, he wore a red plaid shirt with jeans, glasses pushed upon his nose and his hair greased to the side. He sat sipping his coffee and reading this week's issue of __________ "Morning sweetie." her mother said. "Morning Mum." "Sleep well?" Her father asked without putting down his paper. "I slept fine." Freya took a seat at the table, her mother came and placed a plate of eggs, bacon, and sausage with a glass of milk to the side. She gobbled down her breakfast without a word and raced to grab her book bag, "What's the hurry hon?" Her mother asked, not turning away from the stove. "Just have a lot of tests today, I'm wanting to get ahead." She lied, she really just needed to see Jason after what happened last night, make sure he's okay. "Alright sweetie, well have a lovely day. Don't forget to pick up cigarettes for your father after school." "I know mum." She responded and raced out the door.

The whole ride to school was a haze, she was too caught up in thought about the strange dream she had that night, 'what could it mean? What was Jason wearing?' She thought to herself. When she arrived at school she went straight to class, not stopping for anyone, scanning the crowds for any sight of Jason. Her classroom was empty, she sat down and waited. As people started arriving worry set in Freya's heart as no sign of Jason could be found. The whole day Freya looked at the door and back at Jason's seat in anticipation for if he would arrive late.

School went by slowly with the normal history, math, science, bomb drills and housewife lessons but one worry kept her distracted through the whole of it, where was Jason. After school she ran through the busy streets of 34th street and down the street of the old factory where Jason lived near. Her heart sank as she saw flashing red lights and sirens coming from the direction of his house. She ran faster and faster to reach his house and when she arrived she saw police tape and body bags half covering the bodies of Jason's parents. She covered her mouth trying not to puke and started to cry. She ran past the police tape and slipped past the guards at the door, they tried to stop her but she was too agile for them to grab her. She dropped to her knees in front of the floor that was covered in blood, the chair Jason's father once was tied down in was laid down in the puddle of the crimson liquid. "You need to leave now miss." The policeman told Freya but she could not move. "Where's their son?" She said through tears. "The son wasn't found. We suspect whoever did this took him after killing his parents." Freya was in shock, she couldn't move or breath. The policeman put his hand on her shoulder in a comforting way. He helped her up and walked her out of the door. Everything was moving in slow motion. As soon as the policeman walked her past the door she sprinted away from the house, not looking back.

She ran and she ran until her lungs burned like a thousand suns. She dropped to her knees and sobbed. She had ran two miles away from Jason's house and into an alley where she could be alone. Thoughts crowded her mind on what could have happened to Jason. Could he have ran away? Could he have been taken? What happened? Who would do this? She sobbed in that alley until the sun started going down when she walked slowly home. The sky was cloudy and dark. It was stormy but with no rain, lightning struck through the sky and thunder trembled the earth. When she got home she went straight to her room and crawled under the covers, trying to block out the world. She started to drift off when she heard a small tapping on her window. Her heart leaped out of her chest and she shot up from her bed and went straight for the window. She opened the window and broke into tears. "Jason!"
