Lin Que smiled while greeting them, "Auntie. Ginny." Their unexpected arrival gave his heart a little scare that he forgot about Lucas.
Lily turned around with a crooked smile, "Mom! Ginny! Didn't you two say you guys weren't coming to visit me today?" She blinked innocently at them as she waited for their response.
Within seconds, Ginny wrapped an arm around Lily's shoulder and smirked at Lin Que. "If we didn't come, how could we see how close you two are? Hmm? One fork two uses along with a spoon-feeding scene."
Toby let out a soft chuckle as she glanced at Lily's flushed face and Lin Que's busted expression. Before she could say anything, Lily hugged Ginny's waist. "We're recycling."
Ginny almost slipped out of her seat after hearing her response. "Lily~ Recycling is one thing, but feeding each other is another category. Did the first bite taste extra delicious because he was feeding you? Hmm? Since when did you guys start sharing one fork, tray and spoon?"
Rendered speechless with no more comebacks in mind, Lily decided to admit their relationship. Originally, she wanted to play around a bit before confirming their relationship to Ginny. Since Ginny's questions have eliminated every response, she had in her mind; she could only surrender.
Struggling free from Ginny's embrace, Lily moved her seat to Lin Que's lap. His instinctive reaction was to wrap his arm around her back to secure her posture on his lap. She then held his hand and intertwined their fingers.
Under Toby, Ginny and Lucas' witness, she comfortably leaned on his chest. Raising their linked hands, she said, "We are officially dating! No more teasing us. If you tease me any longer, you might scare away my queen."
Lucas covered his lips to trap the laughter from escaping. This was the first time anyone has ever addressed Lin Que as their 'Queen.' Still, his few fingers weren't enough to sew his lips tight as a "pffft" sound turned everyone's attention towards him.
"Lucas, you're here." Lin Que gave him a warning glance, which ended up totally ignored. Since Lily was sitting on him, he didn't dare make sudden movements. If he did, she might end up falling.
Lucas' body almost swayed sideways as he wished to say, 'Bro, what do you mean I'm here? I've always been here!'
Toby looked at Lucas and asked, "Sorry, I remember you were calling out for Lin Que earlier? Were we disrupting something?"
Lucas waved his hands in the air, "No. No. Sorry for the late introduction. My name is Lucas Lin, and I am his younger brother."
Toby smiled politely and introduced herself as well. Ginny's introduction followed after Toby finished. Since Lily was Lin Que's current weakness, Lucas took advantage of the situation and started building a good connection with them.
As soon as Ginny finished introducing herself, Lucas walked over to Toby. "Oh my!!! You're Lily's mother? Auntie looks so young. You look more like her sister than mother!"
Lily's mouth twitched at how talented he was at gaining extra bonus points in front of her mom and best friend. Not only did his words make Toby laugh, but he also exchanged contact information with them.
Looking at how Lucas behaved and then at Lin Que, she whispered, "You guys are definitely blood related."
"Why do you say that?" His raised brow showed off his confused expression. If it's about appearances, then him and his brother do share some similarities.
She replied, "Both so good with words. Look at that, he spent less than ten minutes to successfully get my two favorite ladies' contact information in hand. He's acting like it's as easy as picking vegetables with his eyes closed."
"I'm different." He whispered to her ears.
"How so?" Pulling her body closer into his embrace, his lips pecked her ears for a few seconds. The sudden minimized gap made his whispers seem louder and more sensual than before.
He chuckled as he flirtatiously blew into her ears. "Because I only pay attention to one woman. And that person is you."
These words made her heart tingle with warmth as her mouth tasted overwhelming amounts of sweetness. So sweet that it became unbearable for her to stay still. Her fluttery eyelashes pointed at his direction as her eyes curved with joy.
Covering her eyes, Ginny blushed, "I haven't had lunch yet. Please spare my single life. I'll stop teasing, so don't give me so much dog food."
Lucas snapped a photo of the lovely couple whose eyes spread such happiness and sent it to his parents. He captioned it, "It's done for. It's done for. Forget it, mom. Forget it, dad. A new emperor has formed! The emperor of dog food! Damn! I never knew bro had such smoothness in him. His blizzard mountain heart finally got enlightened by future sister-in-law's sword! Woooo!"
Lily covered her face with her hair to hide her embarrassment once again. "Ah, right. Don't tell me you two came to visit just to have a last second check on me. If I remember correctly, mom is leaving in two days."
"I totally forgot about this until you mentioned it just now. Here, it's from your cousin, Meng Meng." Toby passed the pink envelope to Lily.
Looking at her mother and then at the envelope, a smile formed on her face. "What kind of party did she decide to cater this time? Can I not go?"
"Well, I can't go anyways because I'm leaving in two days. She's your cousin, so you should attend this party. Considering how you've been excused for the last fifteen invitations; you must attend this one." Toby said strictly as she didn't like how Lily avoided family occasions.
"But mom, you know how she is. She only spends money like water because she wants to show off. Half of the last fifteen parties she catered were for her new boyfriends. After tossing one boyfriend away like a pair of shoes she wore once, she gets another. This time shouldn't be anything special." Lily waved the invitation card carelessly.
"Lily, remember. They are still part of our family. Even if she acts spoiled and rude, you can't avoid her forever. Besides, you can attend this one and ditch the next thirty parties." Toby gave her a meaningful glance.
"Heh, mom. So, I have your word for it?" Lily stopped waving her hand and clipped the envelope between her index and middle finger.
Pinching Lily's nose lightly, Toby said, "Yes. Mom said it."
Flipping the invitation card open in hand, Lily mocked the design and reason for the party.
"Fine. Fine. I'll go in your place. Sheesh. I don't understand Meng Meng at all. See? It's another new boyfriend. What's so special about dating past ten days? Literally her excuse to dump money on useless gatherings." Lily sighed as she leaned against Lin Que's hard chest. It's not even the party yet, and she already felt a huge migraine coming her way.
