Morning sun shown through the cracks between the closed indigo colored curtains, which covered the large glass window. The room lit dimly by the little to no light, but was clearly wide enough, walls in the color of gunmetal blue, with the cieling a black color, decorated with glow in the dark planets and stars, giving it a space feel. A queen sized bed at one corner , far from the door, that looked like it was pulled out of a palace, with prussian blue covers over a sleeping female. Beside the bed were dark oak cabinets, and bedside lamps. to the right of the bed was a built in bookshelf, adorned with vines made of silver and crystal Dortmund roses, giving the bookshelf a fanatasy look. The bookshelf filled with books was accompanied by a study table, made of the same material as the small cabinets beside the bed. Notes, paperworks, photos, journals, coloring material, and pens littered it in an orderly manner and a laptop and headset over it. Atop the study table was an overhang shelf, the brackets custom made of platinum, were molded to seem like tree branches. Diamond shaped crystals attached to silver chains hanging on the tree branch, appearing like dropplets, gave the overhang a matching fantasy design as the bookshelf. The rest of the room was ornamented with all the other bedroom furniture, and a telescope by one corner, across the door.
A knock reverberated on the oak door before it opened. The male entered the room, freshly out of the shower. He wore a maroon hoodie, over with some light grey sweat pants and a pair of fuzzy tan colored slippers covering his barefeet. His blonde curls pushed back with a headband, preventing it from messily covering his freckled face.
He strode towards the sleeping black haired female, who seemed too peaceful to be disturbed. The comforter over her moved along the rythmn of her breathing as her eyelids closed on her pale face. The blonde male sat down on the side of the bed and brushed a strand of hair that covered the female's face. A smile placed on his lips as his fingertips found way to her cheeks before he pinched him playfully; earning a groan from the sleeping human.
"Wake up, Sea. Its already 8:30. I cant have you sleeping all day despite there being no classes." Cleiv chuckled as he shook her awake. However, such attempts failed to awaken Kara from her slumber as another groan left her before she pulled the prussian colored comforter and turning away from the young male.
The freckled male laughed at her stubborness and tried another attempt to wake her; only this attempt would ensure her to awoke. He shifted his posistion before pouncing on her sleeping form, guaranteeing that she cant escape whatsoever. Both his hands attacked her waist and tickled her; finally able to wake her up with gasps and whining for him to stop.
"CA! S-Stop! Ack--" Kara yelled as she struggled to escape fromher assailiant, however, her struggles proved no worth as his hand continued to attack her with more tickles. "Since you didn't want to leave the bed, I'm not letting you." He said in a matter-of-a-factly tone as he resumed assailing her with more tickles until she was left breathing and wheezing heavily. Cleiv stopping on his assult and sat on her legs as she catched her breath and even her heartrate to normal.
Kara raised her eyesight to Cleiv; her ocean blue orbs looking into mismatched ones. "Been long since I last seen those mismatched eyes. I missed them." She spoke out loud.
Cleiv had heterochromia that developed when he was a child. Pale green eyes for his right eye, and his left being a pearl gray color. When he had arrived in Pollaris Constell he had covered his left eye completely, hiding his pearl gray eye. Having heterochromia was something that he and Kara shared, with her only having sectral heterochromia for her right eye; being barely visible.
Kara forcibly shoved Cleiv to the side, rolling and falling off the side of he bed with a thud and a moan driven from pain. Kara snickered as she scooted off the bed and standing over Cleiv. "Thats for disturbing my slumber, you scalawag." Kara remarked as she slightly leaned forward. Cleiv took the oportunity to make her lose her balance by kicking her feet. The action succesfully made her lose her balance and fall forward onto him, and she made sure he gained more pain.
"Wow. You barely weight anything." Cleiv sneered as he wrapped his arms around her waist. Some may say its somewhat sexual or romantic gesture, but to the two, it was nothing more than a friendly one. Romance? Yeah right. As if.
"Hey, CA..." Kara spoke as she rested her head on his chest. Cleiv hummed in response to signal her to proceed.
"Why do you think we should go to school today?"
Cleiv remained silent before shifting. He sat up, as Kara got off him and sat cross legged beside him. A sigh escaped the young man's lips as he took off the headband and ruffled his blonde locks, bouncing like springs on his head as he did so. His lips pulled to the left as his cheek puffed, emphasizing his freckles. "Honestly... I dont know either." He answered as he cutely pursed his lips.
Kara stared into his mismatched eyes as if wanting more answers, but Cleiv shook his head. indicating he had none. She groaned her frustration and stood up, walking to her bathroom door and openning it, "I'll take a bath first. You head down and get us something to eat."
"What am I? Your servant?" Cleiv sarcastically said as he stood up to his full height, hands on his hips, asserting his point. His headband now placed back on his hair, pulling back the curly blonde locks away from his face. The female glared at him and his remark with a pout and she turned around, enetering the bathroom and slamming the door shut.
--
Approximately 30 minutes later, Kara went downstairs to meet up with Cleiv who was cooking in the kitchen. His slender waist visible because of the apron's ribbons wrapped around it. Girls who like men that know how cook would rate him as the perfect husband for them, which however would take a downside turn once they know Cleiv isn't at all attracted.
"So, what's for breakfast, Chef?" giggled the young female who sat down by the kitchen counter. Her hair blow dried and styled into a messy bun shined as daylight through the window landed on her black hair. Her ocean blue eyes appearing just like the endless sea as her lashes fluttered each time she blinked.
Cleiv chuckled and turned off the stove, setting whatever was in the pan to plates. The delicious aroma of the meal he had prepared. He placed the pan on the snk and let the water cool the heat of it, creating a hissing sound. The blonde male then went back to retrieve the breakfasts he prepared and placed one plate infront the hinger stricken best friend of his as he set the other next to her's as he removed his apron and sat down on a stool next to her.
Their breakfast wasn't as luxurious as the house they are living in, but rather it was a simple korean fried rice and an omelette. The aroma it was giving off made it seem like a breakfast a luxury hotel would serve it's guests with. Kara picked up her spoon and fork and ate, moaning in the pleasure of such a wonderful taste. She had to be honest that it had been a while since she last tasted such a delicious meal to start off her morning. Cleiv couldn't help but grin at the satisfaction written on her face, before he too proceeded to eat his meal as well.
After breakfast, Cleiv cleaned up the table as he told Kara to go the living room and he'll follow afterwards after he finishes washing the dishes. "Such a responsible man. How women would wish for you to be in their lives." Commented Kara before running to the living room after Cleiv almost threw marble at her. While he washed the dishes, he peered out the window and immidiately noticed the sudden abundance of clouds. The area was unnoticably becoming dimmer are minutes flew by.
Cleiv then went ot the living room, hearing the telivision on and a movie being played. Kara siting comfortably on the beige colored couch, hugging a pillow of a darker shade of the color. Cleiv hopped over the couch and landing next to Kara, causing her to bounce from her seat at the sudden weight. "So, what are we watching today?" he asked as he snuggled closer to her, Kara leaning her weight to him as both teens stared at the screen. "A movie called After Earth." Kara answered as she tightly hugged the pillow.
"Cleiv, what's happening outside? Why is it dark out?" She asked, as her voiced quiverred in worry.
"Sea." The male spoke, a stern tone mixed into his usually soft voice.
"I dont want to scare you but... Remember when Dimitri used to always say Where there is Peace, there is Chaos?" Cleiv's arm went over Kara's shoulder as he held a firm grip on her arm. Kara took notice of the action and looked up to him, signaling him to continue what he had to say.
"Well... Here on Polaris, where the more peaceful it is, the more chaotic it becomes. No one still knows why but..."
"Cleiv, what do you mean?" Kara interrupted.
"Polaris is a remote island, and classified as the most deadliest." Shock, fear, worry, and a rollercoaster of other emotions locked into Kara as she tried to process what Cleiv had said.
"What do you mean by deadliest?"
"Polaris is constantly hit by unknown meteors. At first, scientists thought it was only a one time phenomenon, but as the months counted on, it kept coming, wave after wave. Although people in Polaris are safe and so are the buildings due to those being constructed to be able to withstand such blows, it still possible for people to die. When they went back to IASA, they had replied that they had not seen the meteors coming, nor have seen them move so abnormally. Only about 10 or so years ago had they found a solution to predict the phenomenon and can warn people in advance." He explained.
"How many lives?" Kara asked.
"Pardon?"
"How many lives were lost?"
Cleiv's mouth left agape before he averted his gaze somehwere as he thought, or rather tried to remember what he had been told. "According to what Calisto told me, approximately 10 lives every time it hits. Which is an average of 60 to 70 casualties each year.
"Why does Calisto know about that?" Kara asked immidiately. She doesn't know why, but it was as if everything revolves around that mysterious male.
"He was born here on Polaris. He knows alot of stuff-- He's too stocked in knowledge its quite unbelievable." Cleiv answered as he sunk deeper into the comfortable couch. The windows of the mansion and the doors were being shut by a safety protocol that was built, thus the entire place was only lit by the light-emitting diodes.
Silence overcame them once more as they watched the ongoing film on the flat screen telivision. Cleiv paying close attention to the movie, flinching a bit when the scenes are a bit of a jumpscare and almost not breathing when the scenes become too intense. Kara being in her own thoughts, trying to take in the whole situation they were in and was thinking of all the possibilities that could revolve around Calisto. She would be a fool to believe it was all a coicidence, since everything had a reason and she knew that as a fact.
Midway to the film, the ocean eye colored female made a loud gasp as she had just realized something. Cleiv averting his attention to her almost immidiately. Awating was she was saying for good few minutes before she spoke;
"Calisto knew what was gonna happen today and warned us."
