Chapter 7 - Wealthy Second Generation

"Hello, sir, welcome to ⦓Starfire Smith⦔. What would you like?"

Clinton looked at the person behind the counter. "I would like to buy a sword."

"Okay. What kind of sword are you looking for?"

[...Seriously?]

[Ask for an element-enhanced sword that has a strength requirement of 100 or lower.]

[Just do it.]

[...]

<...>

[Fine. An element-enhanced weapon is exactly what it sounds like. A sword with an element abilities enhanced onto it. They carry abilities like... um...]

[...I do know! I just forgot about it!]

[...Just. Ask. For. An. Element. Enhanced. Sword.]

"I would like an element-enhanced sword that has a strength requirement of 100 or lower."

"Okay, please wait here for a few seconds." The person behind the counter walked away. Suddenly, the system's voice sounded in his head.

[Do you even know how to use a sword?]

<...>

[Wait, that's wrong. I should of asked: have you even touched a sword before?]

<...Shut. Up.>

[So you hadn't, huh.]

[... In any case, I think you should buy a spear instead since you don't have any experience with the sword. Spears are much easier to learn than swords.]

[...]

Clinton ignored the system and continued to wait quietly for the employee to come back. After a few minutes, the employee finally came back, carrying 2 swords. "Sir. We have two swords that can meet your requirements."

Clinton nodded. "Can I try them out?"

"Yes, of course," said the employee. He put the 2 swords on the counter, picked up one of the swords, and handed it to Clinton.

Clinton reached out for the sword and accepted it. He unsheathed the sword and inspected it. The blade was a light blue color, with the handle being silver. He touched the edge of the blade with his hands. "Sharp," he muttered.

[Of course it is.]

[No idea.]

<... Well, it doesn't matter.> Clinton handed the sword back to the employee, and said, "Thank you. How much do these swords cost?"

"They both cost 2.25 bronze coins each."

[Yes. What, you want to buy both of them? What are you, a spoiled wealthy second generation that gets everything he wants?]

<...>

"I'll take both of them," said Clinton.

"That'll be 4.5 bronze coins," said the employee.

[Ding. Spend 4.5 bronze coins to purchase items |Wind-cutter| (element-enhanced sword) and |Frost-bringer| (element-enhanced sword)? Yes/No]

The 2 swords in the employee's hands disappeared and a bag filled with coins appeared in his hands.

[Ding. 4.5 bronze coins have been deducted from your balance. Items have been sent to your inventory.]

"Thank you for buying at ⦓Starfire Smith⦔. Is there anything else you would like?"

"Nope, thanks." Clinton walked out of the shop.

[Your current balance is: 10 silver coins, 255 bronze coins, and 60 copper coins.]

[Nice job figuring that out. Although, you could have just asked me.]

<... Why didn't you say something about it earlier?>

[Because you never asked.]

[Because you said something abut it.]

<...>

[100 copper coins is equal to 1 bronze coin. 100 bronze coins is equal to 1 silver coin. 1,000 silver coins is equal to 1 gold coin. 100,000 gold coins is equal to 1 platinum coin.]

[That's just how it is. Platinum coins are super rare. Get how poor you are now, wealthy second generation?]

<... I feel like it would of been better if you didn't say anything.>

[Don't worry about it for now. You are pretty rich considering that you already have silver coins while every other users probably only has copper coins or a few bronze coins.]

[You aren't like a wealthy second generation, you are one.]

<... System, why are you so toxic?>

[I'm not toxic, you just hear my words in a toxic way.]

<...>
