Hui Siran swung over the tall black gates. Scars of warfare were still about the city. Chunks missing from the wall and buildings, and scraps of armor and weaponry that no one had bothered to claim were still lying about despite the months elapsed.
A voice echoed from the watchtower that looked over the city walls, high-pitched and cheery. "Jiejie! You're finally back! I missed you oh so dearly and...oh, are those guests you're bringing in? Please bring them in!"
There was little blue spec on the top of the tower that quickly retreated upon announcement. Yuan Xuelan frowned and shrank behind the Ivory Sword Saint. Liu Sumeng thought him cute but he really needed to take his mind off of his adorable lover for a moment.
