Chapter 1 - The new maths teacher

'A new maths teacher! How's he going to be like? Um would he be handsome?' Stella thought for a while until her friends snapped their index finger and thumb to wake her up from her daydream. "Oh, yeah? What do you want?" She said waking up from her daydream. Britanny, her best friend asked, "Were you thinking about the new maths teacher?" Before even she could answer one of her friends, Emma said, "We just saw him in the staff room. He's too good looking! I wish he likes me back. Aaaagggghhhh!" Everybody laughed. "Are you out of your mind? He must be in his 30s and you're crushing on such an old guy?" said Ava. "As long as a guy is handsome why would the age even matter? Just kidding." Emma said making everyone chukle at the thought.

"Good morning class! I'm Liam Anderson, aged 22. I'll be teaching you maths for this session." the maths teacher spoke as he saw the class getting stunned. He wasn't quite sure if it was in a good way but he liked the attention he suddenly received. Looking at the students it didn't feel like they were bad. So he thought that it would be pretty easy to teach them. It was his first school and class. He decided to give his best. Overall it was junior high.

The girls on the other side, sitting at the back benches, were more than stunned. He looked so gorgeous! He had tousled dark brown hair, which was thick and lustrous. His eyes were a mesmerising deep ocean blue, flecks of silvery light performed ballets throughout. His face was strong and defined, his features molded from granite. He had dark eye brows, which sloped downwards in a serious expression. It was just too impossible for a young girl to fall for that guy.

"My Adonis! He's mine already, no matter what! I'm having an heart attack! Somebody save me!" Emma said in a bit loud voice until her other friends covered her mouth and smiled weakly looking at their 'Adonis', wondering if he heard even a bit of what she told.

Stella was the only one among her group 'Fantastic Five' who didn't really liked teacher. She thought he wasn't gentle enough.

Liam was now surprised of what he heard. He felt awkward. Did he really hear someone say 'Adonis' ? Impossible! He was their teacher after all. "Everybody tell me your name one by one. Let's see if I remember correctly." Liam said smiling slightly.

Each student did as he said. They stood up respectfully and told their name while looking at his smiling face

Now it was Stella's turn. She also stood up and said, "Good morning, Sir. I'm Stella Malone." Liam got off his resting position and asked, " wh-what is your name?" She said, "Stella - Stella Malone, sir." Liam got reminded of his mother. She wasn't with him anymore. He had lost her years ago. Listening to her name after so long he couldn't believe his ears. He took a small step back and said, "uh nice name."

And just like that, the class ended. It was the last class. So the school dispersed. Everyone was in a rush to go back to their houses except the Fantastic Five. They were slowly approaching to the bus stop when the new maths teacher bumped into Stella. "uh aah, I'm sorry! Oh hi Stella!" he said after realizing who he bumped into. Stella waved one hand a bit and used another hand to rub her forehead. "Hey! Are you okay? Im sorry to cause you trouble. Is there something I can do to help you?" Liam spoke again which annoyed Stella a lot. "Not-a-thing, Sir. You can continue to go on your way as we go ours. It was nice meeting you." speaking that Stella moved ahead, the group silently followed her equally annoyed but due to different reason.

Stella knew she had fallen into trouble and finally Emma spoke proving her right.

"How the heck could you talk so rudely with our Adonis! You don't deserve to be in our group. Someone kill her already!"

"Shut up! How could you want to kill your friend just because of a handsome man! You don't even know if he's good! What if he really turns out to be a bad person, huh?

"I bet you thousand bucks that he ain't a bad person."

"Let's just see."

Saying that Stella went inside the bus that took her to her house. The bus was extremely crowded. There was not a single seat left. She wanted someone to offer her their seat as she was too tired due to her dance lesson that day which lasted for more than two hours. Suddenly a voice was heard, "Hey! Cmere!" She looked at the direction of the voice and guess who the person was? Ethan James. Her crush! She went towards him without even a first thought. He gave her his seat saying that his house wasn't too far. She sat there, blushing.

The next day she went to school as usual and saw 'the annoying maths teacher' at the morning. She hadn't done her Physics homework and the teacher punished her even though she was really the kind of teacher who was against giving punishments to the students for making them better. She even slipped and fell really hard on the ground and her knees got injured. She couldn't dance well and was scolded for the same. She was late for her English class and hence got scolded really badly. It was maths class at the last. She was asked to solve a question but she couldn't. She felt really ashamed and with all the negative things filling inside her mind she started crying.

Liam knowingly gave her to solve the question. But he didn't expect her to feel embarrassed or cry. When he saw her teary eyed he couldn't control himself. He felt ashamed too. Something in his heart didn't feel right. He didn't know what was wrong with her there. So he went near her and said, " "Hey hey hey! Its okay if you can't solve the question. I'll help you. Don't worry. Don't cry!"

Hearing him say that made her cry even more. After all the sympathy showed during a breakdown makes people cry even more. She felt really too depressed. She thought, 'Morning shows the day!' and said, "Can I please go to the washroom?" He let her go.

Liam was too confused. Something inside him wanted to know the reason due to which she cried. At the morning she looked quite happy. What was really wrong with her?

The last bell of the day rang and the class was empty in just few minutes.

Liam decided to know the reason. He went towards the girls washroom and waited until she finally came back.

"What're you doing here! And why the hell are you here?" Stella shouted at him, forgetting that he was her teacher.

"Hey listen! Please don't shout. Let us just talk about this at a quiet place. Just don't shout, okay?"

"Hmm let's go." she replied as she wanted to let everything out of her chest.

After reaching at the terrace, he said,"hmm, so what's wrong Miss Malone?"
