Chapter 1 - New House, New Problems

My head slams into the car window as we pass over a speed bump. Guess I'm awake now. I look out the window to see an unfamiliar landscape. Looks like we made it past the Georgia border already. I glance at my mom,she has a look on her face that tells you she is concentrating hard on not falling asleep. She catches my glance and a small smile is caught in her lips.

"Well good morning sleepy head, I'm assuming you had a great nap."

"Not as great as you think mom. You know I don't do well with sleeping in cars." She looked at me with a playful glare. My mom is 24 years old while I'm 17. she had me at a very young age due to her being raped and getting pregnant. Many people told her to get an abortion, but she just couldn't do it. People say that getting pregnant is one of the best things can ask for, not for my mom. She had just finished collage and decided that we should have a new start, so we packed our bags and left for the car to start a new adventure. I'm not complaining, we kinda needed it. I look back and glance out of the window.

"Hey, take a look!" my mom suddenly screamed that it made me jump out of surprise. I whip my head around to see what we are talking about, only to see a house seemingly getting larger as we drive closer to it. My eyes widened in surprise.

"How did you even buy this?" I whispered mostly to my self but mom caught on.

"A lot of money that was stored up since you where born. When you where born I talk to my mom about opening up an account to save money and gain interest. The money kept stacking up and here it is." She motioned the house with her hands. It looked like a mansion, with dark oak as the walls for the outside and a glass wall that points up into a triangle. Fresh vines slowly slithering up to the top of the house. I looked around even more and there seemed to be a building behind the house, only connected by a stone path. Mom looked over to where I was looking and a grin split across her face.

"That is the game room, so if you ever want friends over you can go in there. I will be working at home so you will see me a lot more." She started jumping up and down and tuners her head towards me, eyes gleaming.

"Isn't this exiting! We will finally get the mother, daughter bonding time that we lost all those years!"I looked up at her in amusement and a small chuckle escaped my lips.

"Yeah I'm really exited mom! Just think of all he fun things we can do!" Her eyes lit up like a kid on Christmas Day.

"Oh! We could go shopping, watch a movie, make face masks, bake..."as she ranted on I started to stare at the house. Maybe this really won't be bad.
