*Beep...Beep...BEEP..BEEP, BEEP, BEEEEEEEEEPPP!!!*
I slammed my hand onto the top of my alarm clock.
6:00AM
I felt exhausted but for some reason I couldn't wait for the day to start.
I forced myself out of my warm bed and made my way to the bathroom. I began to start up the shower but before I get in I'll brush my teeth first.
As the hot water trickles down my back and through my hair thoughts began to fill my mind.
I say aloud to myself : "My name is Zariah Nicole Rose, I will be partnered up with head detective of Los Santos P.D. I will be the first woma- I'm sorry first brown woman to be in such a high ranking position in the last 20 years. I DESERVE TO BE HERE."
I let those words sink into my brain.
I need to remind myself that I deserve to be there because a lot of woman in the police industry can be torn down by asshole cops trying to make themselves look good. A woman's judgment can also be criticized in this industry I need to make sure I'm prepared.
As I'm getting dressed I realize that all my underwear in the dryer didn't fully dry.
I have a back up set the only problem is it's a lingerie set. It's a black bra and panties lace set with a tiny red ribbon ties into a bow in the middle. I had been saving it for a special occasion.
I feel embarrassed wearing it to work but I have to get leaving soon and I can't exactly wait for my other clothes to dry, So I'm kind of out of options. Off to work it is.
As I'm driving in my car I begin to think about my soon to be partner I've heard many thing about him not too many that have been great. *Flashbacks to a cop party/work get together*
Cop 1. "Did you hear that Zariah's getting promoted to second head detective of Los Santos P.D ."
Cop2. " Wow Really I was knew she was smart but wow they haven't had a women in charge in what the last 20 years!?"
Cop1. "That's the least of her problems. Did you see who she is getting partnered up with!?
Aaronđđ˝Berryđđ˝Andrew."
Cop2. "Damn....so unlucky her career was just about to start. I heard that guy was such a hard ass and doesn't trust anyone. Didn't his last three partners not work out?"
Cop1. "Yeah no one knows why though all of his previous partners just said he was impossible to be around."
*Back to reality*
Damn it. How am I suppose to impress someone who doesn't trust anyone. This might be my hardest mission yet. By the time I snap out of my thoughts I realize that I have arrived at the P.D station and I can begin to feel the butterflies đŚ fill my stomach. I'm so nervous...I mean how can I not be? Before I was just a rookie cop and now I've made my way all the way up to second head detective.
"Come on Zariah don't be such a scaredy cat. If you can make it through training camp you can make it through this."
I was right it was time to face my fears. I begin making my way through the doors straight to chief of polices office he should be expecting my arrival. After introducing myself the chief says it's time I meet my partner.
Chief: "Right this way your office is right next to his."
For some reason those words made me very nervous. We arrive at two rooms one which as Aaron Andrew wall name tag on beside the door. The door is propped open but the chief knocks on the door anyway, I hear a deep husky voice respond "Come in."
Chief: "Aaron this is your new partner Zariah. I expect you to show her the ropes around here and catch her up on the current investigation. Don't go to hard on this one Aaron I'll leave you two alone to get to know one another."
A chuckle then escapes the chiefs mouth before he leaves the room, But for some reason that just makes me more nervous. Aaron stands up from his desk and walks over till he's standing in front of me, I can smell refreshing cologne and aftershave. This man is absolutely handsome blond hair blue eyes well built my eyes began to wander I couldn't help but stare at him. When I finally got over my dumb self I practically spat my first sentence at my new partner.
Zariah: " HI! ITS REALLY NICE TO MEET YOU! I pRoMiSe To WoRK HArd!"
He's words next completely shocked me.
