The golems are mostly humanoid in fact most of them are based off of many races Sam has encountered until now. They are even exact life-size models of those races.
Judging by the way they are positioned, it seems like even those golems are divided into various squads as they moved.
There is a small group of three golems. They are based off of humans and they are wielding spears. All three of them are focused on only one opponent. As they lunged forward and attacked the opponent from three sides, Sam thought they would be done for.
