Chapter 1 - Blood Mark

Until that night I had never cursed being born as a human unable to express anger, unable to kill.

- You Quarz are amazing! - said the man who was wrapped in worn gray bandages while pulling the dark spear from my brother's body.

The reason I could not move and did not know how to react, was the ability with which I and all the inhabitants of the city of Kyros were born. Humans unable to hurt someone, unable to defend ourselves.

- I'm sorry, I'm sorry ...-. Delilah's trembling voice said, as the makeup she had put on her radiant face trickled down the paths of tears that originated from her beautiful blue eyes.

Her beautiful face, her bright and smooth jet-black hair. I had seen her so many times in the distance, and now that I had her in front of me, so close, salty tears came out of my face like light lines of rivers. I extended my arm to grab his hand, in doing so, the bright white mark on my wrist was exposed.

The killer removed the bandages from his face, revealing that his mouth and part of his neck had been ripped off exposing the flesh and black veins of his gums, in addition to his deep abysmal eyes whose blackness extended in the veins of his face. Delilah and I watched without being able to say a word while a heavy rain pressed us to the ground.

- Now I will have a feast, you wouldn't mind right? Unless you want to stop me ... Right, you can't! - He said as he began to tear Delilah's black dress.

A distant memory came to my mind. The same heavy rain was pressing against my shoulders. Delilah appeared, said nothing, just smiled at me placing her umbrella on top of me. That rain lasted more than three hours, however, she stayed there, she was always like that.

-You are perfect, but something is missing - the man said before picking up his spear, strangled Delilah's neck, and lashed out at her face.

Delilah turned her teary eyes towards me and showed a faint smile that made her cheeks tremble.

- No, please ... stop.

An unbearable heat enveloped my arm like a fiery explosion of steam, and before I knew it, I grabbed the spear´s edge. The struggle had caused the band of the killer's arm to be undone. Unlike the markings I had seen all my life, his was painted in a brilliant bright vermilion red. Our brands face each other, illuminating our faces with a brilliant white and red light.

Cutting through my tendons, the man pushed his weapon. Cascades of tears covered my face when I felt how my right hand was shattered. Suddenly the rain died, emptying the sound, leaving only the strong beat of my heart, turning off the white light and filling it all with the light of blood. The muscles of my face contracted, filling me with a feeling I had never felt, hatred.

When I noticed the muscles in my hands loosened and the spear slipped from my hands. My bare and trembling hands.

-no ... I did not want ... - I said as my eyes strained in gloom.

The metal footsteps of the Krystallos knights surrounded me. Among them, my childhood friend, Porter Iceland, who gave me a cold and dead look.

- How can they let a person die in front of their eyes? How easy is it to take a life?

I dropped my body on the blood stack, my muscles stabbing painfully. Suddenly, a torrid and throbbing pain was injected into my right wrist. I raised my hand and immediately gentle tears ran down my face.

A red mark.
