Ariel listened to the story quietly and when Marcus turned to leave she followed him.
"Was that all true? She asked.
"Yes, Kimmy was my best friend growing up. She got a brain tumor and because she could not take treatment she died giving birth. Harrison loved her a lot and thought they should give Lily up but Kimmy would not hear of it."
"I'm sorry, Losing someone is the hardest thing anyone could go through. I also understand the love a mother gives for her child. My mother loved me very much and I know she would do anything for me."
"It's getting late. If you need anything I'll be upstairs it is the only closed door. I'll see you in the morning." he kissed her cheek and left.
She then watched him walk up the stairs. Ariel went in to have a shower. She was not use to going to bed this early so she unpack what little belonging she had before laying down. She then had a talk with her mother.
"Mom, I'm doing better. I have a really good job as you can see. I hope I make you proud. If you see Mrs. McKenna please tell her what kind of person I am and that I will take very good care of her little girl."
Harrison got back late Wednesday night and was tired. He took just a moment to look in on Lily. She looked so much like her mother he just wished she had Kimmy's blonde hair instead of his red hair.
As he came out of the Lily's room he notice a short dishwater blond going into the room next door. This must be the new Nanny.
All Marcus would say is she was very good with Lily and Lily loved her. He would have to see what kind of woman could get respect out of his ruff little girl.
The next morning Ariel dressed Lily and took her down stairs for breakfast.
"What do you want Lily?" She asked.
"Fishy pancakes." Lily yelled.
Ariel mixed the batter and started the grill. She make 3 pancakes in the shape of different fish.
Marcus came in and when she asked him, he asked for electronics. So she made him a laptop, a record player, and a cell phone pancakes.
They were eating as she made her three regular pancakes.
Harrison made his way down to breakfast and when he heard all the laughing he was curious what was going on.
"Good Morning."
"Daddy, your home. Ariel made me fishy pancakes what kind do you want."
"I am really good, what shape would you like." She said.
"Surprise me." He said pouring himself some coffee.
Ariel went to work. She made a stack of money, a picture of Lily, and a sports car.
He was very impressed. "Where did you learn this?"
"Video on the late night shift." She said.
This girl looked familiar but it alluded him as to were they met.
After breakfast Marcus and Harrison left for the office.
"So were did you find her?" Harrison asked.
"The Aquarium Park. She is your Mermaid."
"The one you went on a date with?"
"It wasn't a date we just ate dinner together. Lily likes her and the past few days it been nice having her around." Marcus said.
"I think this may be a mistake. What is her background?" Harrison asked.
Marcus told him everything Ariel told him and everything he verified.
"She is a sweet caring person with a strong work ethic. Lily could learn a lot from her." He said.
"I'll give her one chance but if she does anything wrong she is gone."
Ariel cleaned up the kitchen after breakfast. Then took Lily out back to play. Lily was teaching her how to play tea party.
They both had big hats on and sat at a little table.
"When you sip tea you need to place your little finger out like this." Lily explained holding the tiny cup and extending her pinky.
They pretend to eat cookies and sandwiches. They played for a few hours like that then went to make some lunch.
Lily wanted Peanutbutter and apple butter with out crust. Apple slices and lemonade.
After Lunch she put Lily down for a nap. It wasn't long after Lily fell asleep that someone came into the house.
Ariel came out of the kitchen to see. It was Sarah Thomas walking in as if she owned the place.
"You must be the new nanny. How has the little brat been?" Sarah asked.
"Fine, and you are?" Ariel asked.
"I'm Harrison's fiancée you can call me Lady Sarah. I just came to wait on Harrison he is coming back today right?"
"Madam, he came home last night. Marcus and him left this morning for one of their offices." Ariel said.
"No, he said he would be back today in the late afternoon."
"If you don't believe me then call him. I need to finish prepping for dinner."
Sarah pulled out her phone and dialed. It rang three times and went to voice. 'I can't believe a nanny would lie like that. If he was back he would answer my call.' She then walked into the main living area and sat down to wait.
It was not long after Sarah sat down that Lily woke up. She went running down stairs yelling for Ariel.
"Shut up you little monster. Why do you have to be so noisy?" Sarah said.
Lily stop in her tracks, "Why are you here mean old witch?" she said.
Ariel walked out of the kitchen, "Lily, don't be mean now. A lady is always polite."
"Sorry, but why is she here? She is not allowed to be her with out Daddy knowing."
"I am waiting for your father to return from his trip. I wanted to surprise him you little brat." Sarah said.
Lily ran over to the table and opened her cell phone and dialed her father, "Hey princess what do you need."
"Daddy, Why do you have Sarah waiting for you at the house?" Lily asked.
"Is Sarah there hand her the phone princess." Lily walked over to Sarah and held out the phone, "Daddy wants to talk to you."
"Darling, when will you arrive. I came over to surprise you." She said in a sweet voice.
"Sarah, I thought we talked about this. You are not to come over unless invited. I am at the main company today. If you want to see me come here." He said.
"I thought you would come straight home when you got off the plane not go to the company."
"I got in last night."
Sarah was hurt, "Darling why did you not tell me. This makes me feel you no longer care for me."
"Sarah I don't have time right now. I was in a meeting when Lily called. If you want to see me come to my office." He then hung up.
