Chapter 11 - Ruoxi Yang!

It took him some time to come to terms with the fact that Ruoxi Yang was no longer his girlfriend.

He never stopped loving her until he set his eyes on Wang Fang, who had succeeded in filling that special part of Jinyong Ruoxi had left hurt.

"Don't tell me you're going out tonight again, daughter!" Ruoxi's mother intercepted Ruoxi's movement.

"Mum! there's huge boredom here and it's making me feel irritated, I have to go out."

"Boredom? irritated? go out? you really aren't ready to change. How can you be bored when you have your siblings here to make you happy. Ruoxi, you are going nowhere!"

"Mother, please don't try to get on my nerves, I don't really know the joy you derive seeing me home all the time. talking of my siblings, the last time I checked, they are boring brothers.

can you believe I almost fell asleep the last time they thought they were actually making me happy?

I am going out to catch fun mother, see ya!"

She tried to make a move but then, Mrs. Yang had her seated back on the couch.

"Having fun you said, then catch fun tomorrow not tonight Ruoxi? It's dangerous out there, especially for you as a young lady, don't you get?

" Mum, I am matured enough to take care of myself, nothing bad is going to happen to me i assure you that, Okay?" She assured her mother of her safety.

"if you think I am going to let you out of this house, then you must be joking. Act decent for once in your life child.

you should be more responsible as a lady, when will you ever make us your parents proud, you talk like a child still."

"You know what mum? I can't believe we are still having this yieldless conversation again. Fine, I am going into my room now to change into my nightwear, I give up and you win!"

She stood up abruptly and went to her room, living her mother in the living room. Mrs. Yang pondered over her daughter's unchanging character. When was she ever going to grow up, did she think she was still a little child?

"I guess I had failed on my own part as a parent, I already raised her the wrong way, but come to think of it, I raised her same way I did with her siblings and they have a distinctive way of life. Oh my goodness, what have I done wrong?" Mrs. Yang Soliloguized as she got to her room too.

Ruoxi tried to sneak out of the house when she got out of her room and saw that her mother was no longer in the living room where she had left her.

Unfortunately, her younger brother was an insomniac who had come to seat in one of the couches browsing with his phone and had seen her trying to sneak out of the house.

"Hey! Where do you think you are going to?"

His voice startled her, it didn't occur to her that somebody was in the living room, so when she heard the voice, she was startled even though she knew it was her brother's. You should understand that kind of situation when you try doing something everyone in the house is against, and then in the process of doing it, you were caught and interrupted, that was exactly what had happened to Ruoxi.

"Shush!" She said as she placed one of her fingers on her lips to silence her brother codedly. But her tactics didn't work on him.

"I ask again, where are you going to?" He asked for the second time.

"Where does it look like am going all dressed this way, a club of course, or do you have any problems with that?"

"You know I do have issues with that, now, if you don't want Dad to know about this, quietly go back to your room. It's past 10 pm already, so do what's right.?

" You're so unbelievable, past 10 pm and you're still awake, aren't you supposed to be sleeping by now?" She asked, giving him a weird look.

"You know I don't sleep by this time, so don't act like this is strange to you."

"Jeez! this is what happens when you have a brother suffering from Insomnia, they end up spoiling your plans, especially plans of this nature." She complained bitterly, not really complaining to her brother, but she actually wanted him to hear those words just to hurt him.

" Yeah, and they end up stopping their only sister from doing what's uncalled for thereby protecting them from encountering evil. aren't they wonderful people?" She retorted mockingly.

"It's because of your wickedness that you're suffering from this now when everyone will be asleep you'll be the only one awake." She said as she went inside her room.

*************

Ruoxi was in her third year in one of the most expensive and famous universities in China. She had not done so well academically, she just didn't like schooling but her parents had forced her into it because they thought as the only daughter who certainly would get married someday, needed to attend a renowned university to prevent her from husband and inlaws taking her for granted.

Let alone for Ruoxi, she had always wanted to go into music and at the same time acting. But her parents had stopped her from doing those. Those were the only desire they had not granted her. Her father, Mr. Yang had sworn never to allow any of his children to become a musician or movie star.

He had an argument with his daughter countless times, during one of the discussions, he made her understand why she should not be thinking of becoming a celebrity.

"I see quality education as one of the obligations expected of me as a father. So giving you my full support to be a movie and a music star is what I can't do daughter."

"Dad, are you for real?! but these are what I have passion for. You have to be my backbone on this father, you've never turned down my request, so don't let this be the first time." Dad am begging you!". She pleaded

Of a true, her father hardly had her request not granted, but this particular one, Mr. Yang was not pleased with it.

"No child of mine will be on the media spotlight, for this reason, it should be something better and worth admiring. Again, you know whose daughter you are, so being a celebrity would put your life at risk. I wouldn't want to lose my only daughter."

"You're really bent on doing this to me father, this isn't fair Dad?"

"Am sorry my daughter, you know I've never had your requests not granted before now. So I expect you to understand."

Ruoxi wasn't that bright academically, she had failed to make her parents proud. There were days her father could go to her school to know how she was doing and would learn that his daughter had not attended classes for some time.

That had always been an embarrassment to his personality then he stopped going to Ruoxi's School. He had his wife, Mrs. Yang go check-up on their daughter.

Often times she was asked why she wasn't doing well in school and she could say that she never liked education but was forced to do it, now this was the outcome of a child being compelled to do what she hated.
