Chapter 69 - Training 6

Ryuk stood up and although he didn't have any injuries due to Riels help he was utterly cracked. His eyes blazed with fear and his heart was cold.

He lifted his head and met Riels eyes.

"What was that?"

"A incredibly small portion of my truth."

Ryuk remembered in that second he felt death. His skin seemed to be filled with centipedes sprouting out from his pores and wiggling around. He felt a cold hand caress his hand and with a flew of any of its fingers he would die. He felt fear drown his confidence and power. This was truly one of the most terrifying moments Ryuk had experienced. Ryuk was lucky though if it was anyone else they would be unconscious frothing from the mouth.

Ryuk had seen the most primordial sense of death something he would never forget.

A thread made from the universe around his soul and a scissor trying to cut it.

Ryuk remembered the hopelessness, the uselessness, the uneasiness of that moment and realized nothing could compare to it. Ryuk had sealed those memories due to how painful they were, but they leaked sometimes and Everytime they did Ryuk would shake and cry like a child. There were no words to describe how he felt. It was worse than getting cut and hit, than getting his skin peeled, than dying itself. It was oblivion. Ryuk could only describe the feeling of oblivion as if someone moving him around like a puppet dragging his body against sharp winds and like pain incomparable.

Riel seeing Ryuks fear quickly tried some Cultivation abilities to help stabilize the mental state. A light green light filled the room and caressed Ryuk.

Slowly Ryuk came back to normal locking up the worse moments of his life, but he knew he needed to face then. Yet was this truly something a 17 year old could handle? Wasn't this too cruel? Fine the sheer agony and pain through every breakthrough was fair since he had so much, the bloodlust fine it wasn't too bad it just ruined most social interactions because thinking about seeing your friends blood and drinking it wasn't really helpful, fine the pain of seeing his mother die he could handle that because he could bring her back, but this was sheer torture that would make anyone crumble. People say that if they went to court they would be able to stay sane, but when you see everyone accusing you and blaming you as the world turns it's back on you people crumble like sand, but Ryuk the Universe seemed to dislike his existence. Ryuk felt angry, sad, fearful. His eyes which had been excited and full of life since he killed his step family had soon returned to how they were when he was ugly, when he was unloved, when he was fearful. Ryuk still firmly held to his principals Insanity, slaughter, beauty, but he had changed yet again. He was angry. Ryuk remembered his times in the tower of Babel and although they seemed like harsh dreams yet not something someone would die from as Ryuks mind passed them the images shifted. The themes changed. No longer was his sure and firm. As he saw his mothers and sisters eyes look at him in disbelief and hatred perhaps even disgust he previously felt content, but now he felt angry. He had done bad things for them, yet he was looked upon as a monster. His mother wouldn't do this? How would he know he barely knew his mother. He was a different person as a child than he was now. A personality forms typically at 11-13 not 4. He felt hatred for his mother, his sister those who cast looks at him. What had he done wrong? He did everything to survive with those he loved yet he was held as evil. What is evil!? Who gives the right to deign such accusations! As they pearl eyes glistened in fury he elt disgust as if having being looked on by scum. He felt himself thinking "These ugly beings dare look at me? They dare judge me?" Ryuks thoughts had taken a full 360. Whether this was his true self of not only he could truly fathom. "Whatever I love is taken. Those who love me don't love me the same. I tread a road of sharp stone yet I get accused of! Do I not even deserve life itself?! Cursed by fate and sent onto a brutal ground is that what any being should experience? Isn't that too ugly!"

Riel saw Ryuks Cultivation and mental state run rampant and quickly knocked him unconscious. He put his fingers two from the right on Ryuks eyes and the other on his abdomen.

Small streams of qi diffused into with calming medicine and stabilizing medicine.

Soon Ryuks violently twitching body became soft.

Riel moved away his eyes confused "What was that?"

A eye appeared suddenly in the sky carrying with it an unbelievable aura. The air cried out and the energy previously normal became vibrant and excited. The dense pressure coming off the eye was incomparable to this world. It seemed almost not mortal.

Riel as soon as he felt the aura stumbled out and got on his knees with sweat falling off his brows due to his nervousness he saluted and said "Sect leader Riel greets Patriarch Crystal!"

The eye didn't look at Riel instead at Ryuk and then said "That boy wasn't scared of you. He was just reminded of something far more terrifying than a pain stage kings truth."

Riel was shocked he knew Ryuks background and couldn't believe that, but the words from the eye were things he couldn't ever question.

Riel putting aside Ryuk asked "Patriarch why have you appeared here?"

The eye looked dissatisfied with Riel for some reason and said "I've recently obtained a new disciple her talent are extremely good, her understanding even better, but... compared to what I've heard that boy is someone no one can even match up to. Taking away everything else his combat sense and understanding is fearsome. I happened to be nearby when I felt your truth emerge and then some chaotic ripples. Take good care of the seedling he may be crucial for the future predicaments."

The eye then dissapeared from the sky.

Riel sighed violently and then said with his head in chaos "Why couldn't it have been another Patriarch... Patriarch Crystal scares the hell out of me... Its all masters fault for marrying his daughter. That aura of his though it seems he's made advancements in the rebirth realm. Perhaps out sect with shine once more."

Riel looked at Ryuk and sighed and then prepared for tommorow.

Ryuk woke up and he remembered what happened and although a little shaken he recollected himself. Ryuk thought about what Riel did with that weird projection he had released. He remembered truth and as he tried to recollect the projection he could truly feel death. Not kill death, but a sorrow towards death or something like that. Ryuk remembered something he had read.

Ryuk when he read the book about other universes by the Buddha he read something that confused him then yet now seemed like the sun appearing in the dark.

"... Our Universe is strange compared to other universes. We do not seek infinite energy, or everlasting bodies or the such we seek understanding and knowledge. Perhaps we are lucky, perhaps it is faith, perhaps it is something greater. No other Universe I have found has the same ideas and systems as us. I do know although that it wasn't spawned by any being not even the creator. That's not to say the other Universes are not as profound as ours, but it is intrinsically different. Its as if the other Universes study a book, but we are the ones to write it."

Ryuk felt more and more this point becoming clear.

Ryuk after thinking to this point made some wild conjectures yet they seemed to far fetched. Furthermore from looking at the sword he knew that after he developed a truth it wasn't then done. His truth would become a law that existed as a foundation of the universe and eventually would join the tao. Ryuk had pondered on what the Tao truly was and had made some head way. Before Ryuk thought of the Tao as just something lower than a law and a understanding of something, but he now realized the Tao is everything. Some said it is the Universe and some the answer to everything yet Ryuk was more literal in his definition its Existence. Ryuk had long pondered what made everything whether it be Universes and the creator it would obviously have to be existence and the Tao was the most compatible with that perverse title. Ryuks guess's about how universe's were made weren't really corrected with what he had, but his guesses were getting more profound. Before be compared a creator to putting a spark into some dry twigs, but know Ryuk described it as harnessing the Tao into themselves and forming it.

Ryuk threw his head back and forth and slapped himself he was getting a pain in his chest and knew his heart condition was picking up. Ryuk had performed some of the exercises he had been shown, but without the nutrition supplement it was barely effective. Furthermore the medicine Ryuk didn't know what to do.

Standing Ryuk went out and knocked on Riels room. "Master."

Riel said "Come in."

Ryuk entered and sat and began and said "Master thank you for your guidance. Before I believed Cultivation was just about increasing the energy within ourselves, but I see I was naive."

Riel nodded happily as although most would come to this conclusion it would be difficult to completely understand yet Ryuk was showing results already. That just showed his talent in Cultivation.

Ryuk continued "Master how does one exactly form a truth?"

Riel was thinking before saying "You have to believe in your principals with no doubt or with profound evidence to back it up. The thing you saw behind me was the coalesce of my truth. It took that form due to my own beliefs. That's the basic of it anyway. Our ancestors didn't have any help with Cultivation they simply sought enlightenment to form Cultivation Techniques and methods you have all their knowledge at your beck and call so don't worry. Just focus on who you are."

Ryuk nodded in fact he held incredible respect for his ancestors to challenge the heavens without what they have now and although he knew the origin beasts and other Universal beings like the Buddha taught life to cultivate most of the experiences, advice and guidance about the actual breakthrough itself came from the ancestors of life. The Universal beings never experienced it themselves and thus their information was flawed. Ryuk compared it to someone who's learns all the attack forms yet dosent have experience fighting a experienced person with limited attacking knowledge.

Riel said "Lets begin the final part of the training. It'll be survival. You can't use your weapons furthermore your Cultivation will be kept at condensation 2. Most of the beasts are foundation except for the rulers of this place so don't worry. You're fine now so lets start immediately."

Ryuk nodded and controlled his dantian so he had his abilities as a condensation Cultivator.

A long distance away an young man slowly stroked his beard as he looked at Ryuk. His eyes were completely different than mortals. Even Ryuks Qilin eyes couldn't compare. His bones creaked with such power that the earth moaned with his very breath. He wore a long Taoist robe blue in color with red moons along his collar. This man could not be called something beyond a mortal yet he couldn't be called a mortal. His eyes which made everything wish to be looked at stared only at Ryuk. A girl wearing a tight black suit with a crecent moon on her right breast with a golden robe with a black moon on it. In the imperial sect those with white robes and white moons were outer sect disciple's. Black robes with golden moons were inner sect disciples. Those with golden robes and black moons were core disciples. As the girls long golden hair dragged with the wind two sharp and narrow eyes could be seen. The originally beautiful face now infected with rage and disgust as she looked at the place where Ryuk was. By her side was a tiger who felt a desire to be angry and ravenous towards Ryuk yet felt only affection as if to its uncle.

"Ryuk... So you're the supposed best Heavens child this realm has ever seen? I'll show you the truth of the matter at the competition to everyone including master."

The girls voice echoed in her head.

The white moon represents the purity and the unspecializedness of the outer disciples.

The golden moon represents their honor and prestige standing against the night sky.

The black moon represents the power of the moon to hide even the mighty sun. An eclipse that haunts all those who see it.
