He started typing at his computer. Suddenly both the robots that were standing there started moving toward us. They took the first punch but me and Carter easily dodged them. We didn't even have to use any martial arts on them we just punched their joints from behind them and they gradually fell apart.
"Well", Carter said, "that was more boring than I thought". The guy looked at us stunned.
"You know", the guy said, "I've met people who are older and bigger than you and most of them can't do that".
"Ok", Carter said, "now that we have completed the challenge can we get going to the tournament". The guy, still looking stunned, nodded and pulled a lever behind his desk and the door on the top floor we noticed earlier opened up.
We thanked the guy and headed off. When we went through the door we came into a hallway that had black carpet along the floor with tan walls and ceiling. At the end of the hallway we saw a guy who looked to be in his forties but he looked like he could lift a car easily. The guy looked at us.
"Welcome", he said and opened the door behind him while handing us a name tag with our names on it.
We went through to a room full of other people, some looked as big the Charles but smaller in muscle size. Everybody else also had a name tag. Some people looked as though they would rather be doing something else right now. Me and Carter walked over to the right side of the room and saw through a window a large building that width wise looked like a hexagon, but the roof still looked pretty high up. Some guy that had a large build was keeping one of the couches in the room to himself kept glaring at us. His name tag said Raff. After a couple minutes of him glaring at us I looked over at him.
"What do you want", I asked him. He got up and walked over until he was standing in front of me.
"You don't belong here", he said even though there were obviously people in the room who looked weaker than us, "this tournament is for the strong, not the weak". I looked him up and down. He seemed to be the type of person to be full of himself.
"Sorry man but we're not leaving and you can't do anything about it", I said. He looked at me second before throwing a punch at me, which was obvious since he had been clenching his fists the whole time. I dodged it easily while Carter backed up to get out of my way. I let him throw a couple more punches, which I dodged, until it was my turn to attack. I went behind him and twisted his neck to the side pushed down at an angle, which made him fall to the ground. This technique is what most people call "where the head goes the body follows". It's a technique that literally makes the body go where the head goes.
I sat down on the couch he was on previously and looked at him on the floor for a couple seconds until he got up.
"Looks like the weak beat the strong", I said, smiling. He looked like he was going to attack again and I was prepared for it but at that moment the guy guarding the door entered the room.
"Excuse me, everyone. I would like you to come with me to where the tournament will start". We all looked at him before walking over.
"We can settle this in the arena", I said to Raff. He nodded and turned away. We all followed the guy down a flight of stairs and to the arena. We looked up and saw people in the stands. The arena is just a place where the people competing in the tournament go and fight after completing challenges. The goal was to meet in the middle and fight
While it may look smaller on the outside on the inside is like a different world. We were all separated by teams to different sides of the arena. Reff glared at me one more time before going to his side. There are doors on the sides of the arena so people can go inside and it will lock behind them.
The only way to get out is to win, get so injured that you can't compete anymore, or death. There are only 5 winners. In the arena the dorps made it so that other competitors are not the only threat in there. There are creatures that are vicious and some are from their home planet so humans have to figure out a way to defeat creature they know nothing about, that's why the dorps who compete have a advantage over humans. There are cameras inside the arena that broadcast the tournament to the outside.
While Carter and I were heading to our door we saw a lot of people we hadn't see in the room earlier. I did suspect that with so many testing buildings at the beginning that there would be more people. Me and Carter finally arrived at our door. people who have competed in the tournament have said when you go through the first door you have a challenge waiting. It can be from a monster to a maze to riddle and you can't leave the room until you complete your challenge. We weren't afraid for the most part but we did hope it was one of the more vicious ones.
An alarm rang and people in the stands started cheering. When the alarm stopped the crowd went quiet and the doors started opening.
