"Thank you, thank you."
"No problem at all."
After bathing, Li Yan entered the main hall. The setting sun cast a vacant hue behind the Qinghai mountains, leaving only a few Huali wood Taishi chairs and a couple of square tea tables in the otherwise empty space.
Dressed in bright red, Ma Liao sat leisurely, slowly pouring and changing the water for the tea. Upon seeing Li Yan enter, he didn't speak, but instead poured two cups of hot tea from the pot and pushed them within reach of the Taishi chair next to him.
Li Yan did not decline, seated himself with confidence, and then exchanged pleasantries with Ma Liao.
"Speaking of which, Lord Governor Li and I have some connections, don't we?"
"How could someone like me, forever stationed in the palace, have any connections with a military man like you, Lord Governor?"
A smile tinged Ma Liao's face: "The Supervisor of the Tea Horse Department, Chai Xuan, is my godson. Lord Governor Li has met him in Shandong."
