"Wang Sheng, we don't want this either, but Lord Huang has spoken, and the Judicial Commissioner's Office can't protect you now," said Centurion.
Centurion had a stern face.
Wang Sheng managed a strained smile, "Thank you, brothers, for your efforts."
With a cold face, the Centurion replied, "You violated the law and defied your superiors, who would call you brother?"
Wang Sheng lowered his eyelashes and remained silent.
"Make sure the chains are tight! Take him away!"
With a purse of his lips, the Centurion commanded.
A Judicial Assistant pulled the chains tight, and once the Centurion had walked far enough away, a young officer whispered in Wang Sheng's ear, "Not everyone kicks a man when he's down. After all, we were colleagues. I've made the shackles a bit lighter, to spare you some suffering, in gratitude for the banquet you once hosted."
Wang Sheng didn't turn around, simply saying softly, "Thank you."
