Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: The Shocking Strike

Counting Lin Luor, there were a total of seven of them in the group.

At that moment, all their gazes were simultaneously drawn to a certain direction...

The tall and distinct figure of Chu You appeared in their line of sight.

This man, radiating a red aura, appeared as if he was brimming with a chilling intent to kill; his bare upper body, a bronze color, exuded a restrained aura of strength that left no doubt about the tempest of violence he would be capable of once provoked. A strangely-shaped, elongately long weapon leaned against his shoulder, his eyes like dead calm lakes, devoid of any ripples.

This man, emanating a powerful aura, slowly approached them.

The seven people appeared as if compelled by a spell to stay motionless, not one dared to move.

Lin Luor was also left at a loss for words, she did not expect that the person she was meeting again for the first time would still be...

So unserious? What had he been doing here in this place?

Chu You surveyed the crowd on the opposite side with just a glance, from that single glance, Chu You accurately identified their leader, Magical Yin Cang. With his vast experiences, he didn't even need to distinguish.

Without further thought, Chu You knew what had transpired here.

Standing beside Lin Luor, a distinctly masculine whiff of scent started to diffuse without warning.

Unknowingly, a blush crept up on Lin Luor's cheeks as she took one look at his bare body, then bashfully lowered her head.

The slender knife held by Chu You was slowly pointed towards, Magical Yin Cang.

The blade was merely a foot away from him. In Celestial World, this was considered a severely provocative action.

Looking at Magical Yin Cang with a cold contempt, Chu You uttered out a word.

"Scram!"

In a deathly silent environment, this word was like a stinging needle piercing deeply into the hearts of the other six men.

They were a party in the virtual world, currently they were messaging each other in the party chat.

"What should we do? Boss, you need to say something."

"What else can we do? We can't just stand idly by when someone points a weapon at us, we fight back!"

"He's already level 5, judging by his gear, he's not someone to be trifled with."

"Should we fight then? I haven't ever fought anyone in this game before. We've got three Level 3 players on our side, and he's but a sole warrior. What's there to fear?"

"Are we really going to just scram?"

Magical Yin Cang didn't utter a word, his eyes fixedly stared at Chu You, his mouth opened as if to speak, but not a word was blurted out. He realized that no matter what he said, it would lessen his own prestige, unless he fought back.

This was exactly the effect Chu You wanted. After uttering that word, he knew he had cornered both parties, dismantling all pretenses of civility, leaving absolutely no room for any feasible way out.

Magical Yin Cang's gaze flickered with rage, he opened his mouth once more, ready to bark out a swear word.

"You mother…"

The long knife aiming at Magical Yin Cang was suddenly thrust forward, activating the 'Decapitation' skill simultaneously.

The skill hit Magical Yin Cang's neck, spurting out a stream of blood. His gaze instantly became vacant, a level 2 warrior was instantly killed off in a moment by Chu You.

With their boss being easily dispatched like this, the other players were shocked. The Mages and Priest players immediately fell back while the other two warriors straight away swung their weapons towards Chu You.

Chu You nimbly dodged the incoming blades, his physical strength currently having recovered to 74, he was completely capable of turning on the speed mode. Chu You swiftly dashed forward in the blink of an eye, lightly waving the long slender knife, the priest who was 3 meters ahead was hit in an instant.

-90, a high damage appeared, the health of this level 2 priest instantly dropped to just a quarter left.

The two warriors that Chu You evaded were left with utterly stunned expressions, they hadn't expected him to be capable of evading their attacks.

A level 3 Mage completed his spell reading at this point, launching a fireball spell.

Chu You had the trajectory of the fireball spell figured out in an instant, he did not even need to look at it, he avoided it just by using his peripheral vision, he glanced at the priest, who was about to run, with a scornful look.

Without giving the priest any more attention, Chu You noticed another fireball coming towards him, he evaded it and at the same time, pointed his long knife towards the retreating priest, launching an attack. A vaguely discernible sword aura appeared right away.

The length of the blade was judged instantly in the eyes of the people around.

The priest, who had already run 3 meters distance, abruptly bent backwards, blood spurted out and his knees buckled under him, and he collapsed. He was dead.

Two swords were swung towards him again, a savage smile appeared on Chu You's face.

You want to die so bad? Then so be it...

He easily sidestepped the swinging swords, retreated, purposely moving two steps backwards towards the Mage. At the same time, he swung his sword at the warrior who was beyond the attack range of the other group.

- 88.

A chunk of opponent's health bar dropped, but he seemed to completely ignore it, relentlessly lifting his training sword to strike at Chu You.

In the early stages of the game, many players, especially those of close combat professions, completely neglect their own health bars during fights. The adrenaline and hormones flooding their senses often blind these players, so those irritating instances of damage feel more like mosquito bites, which only succeed in fueling their rage even more.

If such rage combined with Chu You's current mocking smile...okay then...

The opponent warrior player was absolutely obsessed with inflicting insult to Chu You!

At this moment, Chu You took a sudden leap backward, evading two Fireball attacks, then swung his sword at the opposing warrior once more.

- 89.

At this moment, Chu You was in a position with mage players attacking him from behind, as well as two berserk warriors in front of him.

This tactical situation was...very favorable for Chu You!

The opponent warrior's attack speed was utterly hopeless against Chu You. The difference between them was incomparable. Chu You swung his sword twice more. The opposing warrior now only had a sliver of health left, and at this point, he inexplicably stood motionless.

Getting scared, are we? Chu You said booingly. He didn't give the enemy much time to think and swung one last, fatal strike. He immediately turned around and rushed toward a mage player who was already very close.

Behind Chu You, a warrior player fell to his knees!

The mage player's heart pounded in his chest as he saw Chu You's focus shift directly toward him. After all those attacks they launched and not a single one hit their target, at the sight of Chu You who was still at maximum health, fear surged up inside the mage. He knew instantly they had encountered an elite player.

Continuing to attack would be futile. His only course of action was to run, in hopes of creating a diversion and giving his friends a chance to escape.

Suddenly, the mage shouted, "You guys run, I'll distract him."

"None of you are getting away." Chu You, sporting a confident smirk, flatly denied his plan.

The mage player turned around and started running. In his mind, as long as he continued running, there was no way the enemy would strike him.

- 89.

The mage player, who had already begun running, received a surprising amount of damage, which only spurred him on to run further.

- 90.

Amazed, the mage thought, how could he still be within the enemy's attack range? He took a quick glance behind.

All he saw was Chu You sporting a devil-may-care smirk. The distance between them was hardly covered. Chu You raised his extremely exaggerated long-blade, and with all his might, swung viciously at the mage player.

Carrying him with his momentum, the mage player fell forward, rolling a few times before going utterly still.

Seeing the inevitable unfold, the last two players, however, didn't choose to flee. Instead, they stood there watching Chu You, moving swiftly, chasing and slashing at their comrade.

In their minds, it's just a game after all, isn't it okay to just watch how a player gets killed?

Alright, sure it's fine! Now...it's your turn.

After taking out that player, Chu You immediately set his sights on the other mage player.

The mage and warrior share a look that spoke volumes. They split up and began running.

You won't get away...

"Chu You, enough." Lin Luor pleaded at this point. A look of shock and panic came over her. Clearly, the sight of brutal player killings in the game was too much for a gaming newbie.

Chu You didn't respond, and within moments, had caught up with the other mage player, relentlessly slashing away...

With an emotionless expression, he turned to catch sight of the warrior who'd managed to run some distance. Chu You aggressively went after him.

After a considerably long chase, Chu You was beginning to run out of physical strength. But he was sure the warrior player was running low on energy as well, he was confident that his speed would allow him to take out the warrior in no time.

At a Level 1 Experience Monster Zone, where many low-level players were busy leveling up and killing monsters, all of a sudden, they heard loud yelling coming from not far away. The other players quickly turned their attention to it.

A warrior player emerged from the forest, panic clearly etched on his face, and kept yelling, "Murder, murder!"

Right after, the leveling players witnessed a scene that shocked them to their core.

A towering figure walked out from the undergrowth, carrying an exaggeratedly long and slender blade on his bare shoulders, his body enveloped in a bloody red mist.

This player, who looked as terrifying as a demon king, raised his long blade, and with an overwhelming force, swung the weapon down fiercely at the warrior's head.

With a lethal spray of blood and a horrifying scream, the warrior player fell to the ground, dead and gone.

All that was left, aside from the squawking monsters, was an eerie silence that fell over what was once a lively leveling zone...
