Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Unwritten Rules

"Sir... Sir, please wait." The mage player called out to Chu You, who was about to leave.

Chu You turned around and looked at the mage, who was wearing a flattering smile. Without saying a word, he just watched them quietly.

Such a domineering presence.

The mage player took a step forward, "Sir, may I ask your name? We are from the Sun Shadow Guild. Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Sunshine Suifeng. Can we become friends?"

In Celestial World, players cannot see each other's names. It's impossible for everyone's name, guild name, and title to be listed above their heads. Unless you are in a team or are friends, you have to interact with others to discover their names, otherwise it all needs to be learned through contact.

Levels could be seen, but if the difference is greater than 5 levels, the level information of the higher-levelled player would appear as a question mark in the sight of the lower-levelled player.

Chu You tilted his head slightly, "Which guild are you from? Are guilds not meant to be established after a job change?"

"Hehe, of course. Our members will establish a guild as soon as they reach the job change threshold. We have a 500-person strong team offline..."

Chu You waved his hand, interrupting the player's words. "Just say what you want. I'm very busy and don't have time to chat." His approach seemed rather brusque.

Such a rude fellow.

The mage player, still with a smile on his face, said, "Ehm... I was hoping you could sell us the Skill Book that you just got. We assure you that the price will be satisfactory. Just name your price."

Sunshine Suifeng knew that high-level players like Chu You usually have a large guild or group behind them. Trying to get him to join his guild would be wishful thinking. The main goal was to get that Skill Book from him. Because he had just noticed that Chu You hadn't practiced the Skill Book, instead, he had put it in his spatial backpack. This indicated either he could not practice it at this moment, or it wasn't a Skill Book for Chu You's profession.

In the early stages of the game, getting a Skill Book could greatly improve one's level up speed. The more skills a player possessed, the greater the advantage they had in instances and fights. Sunshine Suifeng didn't want to miss this opportunity to cultivate high-level players for his guild.

Chu You shook his head indifferently. "I won't sell it. That's it." Without looking back, he continued to move forward.

"Who does he think he is?" A nearby priest complained, having never seen such an arrogant individual before.

Sunshine Suifeng's expression darkened slightly. Despite his humility, Chu You didn't seem to appreciate it. Not only was the deal not made, but it also ended on a sour note. The guild he belonged to was not a big guild, but it still had 500 members. As the deputy guild master, he had dignity and a reputation to uphold.

Watching Chu You's retreating figure, Sunshine Suifeng's expression turned somber.

Chu You, however, was unaffected. In his past life, he had been an imposing figure whom even top guild and army leaders had to respect. He had seen many attempts to get equipment from him. If a deal was struck, both parties would be partners, if not, they would just blow up. Those two players were basically pretending to be friendly.

Many feuds in the Celestial World were triggered by minor incidents, and sometimes the reasons were utterly absurd. In this second world, many people amplified their dark side, doing things that frustrated others just for their own pleasure.

It was a chaotic world without any moral constraints. If one couldn't realize this, they would always suffer losses.

In Chu You's mind, as long as nobody obstructed him, he could act as if he saw nothing. Just like earlier, if he was only level 1, the situation would definitely have led to a fight. That's something Chu You often encountered in the late stages of the game.

Therefore, Chu You acted so casually. What's wrong with talking like this? Did it hurt your feelings? If you can't accept it, come fight me.

In his past life, Chu You was essentially one of the few players who wreaked havoc on others.

Soon, Chu You entered the level 5 Experience Monster Zone. He decided to level up to level 5 here. Currently, most players were between levels 1-2, and the level 3 Experience Monster Zone was already the limit of what players could reach. Each Experience Monster Zone was vast, so he shouldn't run into any players here.

He targeted a small demonic pig in front of him, a level 5 ordinary monster.

There was no hesitation. He drew his training sword and charged.

Before long, Sunshine Suifeng followed him, accompanied by the priest. Both of them watched Chu You's tall figure from afar. Due to the distance, they couldn't lock on to the demonic pig and thus they couldn't determine the damage Chu You was dealing.

"I think we should let it go. He has a speed boost, we can't win." After a while, the priest said. Despite the previous anger, after playing the game for many years, he knew that some players are naturally haughty. In the priest's eyes, Chu You deserved to talk like that because, after all, his level was evident.

Therefore, it didn't take long for the priest's anger to subside. He had been trying to persuade Sunshine Suifeng along the way, but the latter just wore a gloomy expression with no response.

At this moment, Sunshine Suifeng said in a soft voice: "I never intended to PK him. I just want to see how he levels up so fast."

Sunshine Suifeng turned to look at the priest, "Don't you find it curious?"

"What's there to be curious about? He's just doing his quests." The priest looked puzzled.

Sunshine Suifeng shook his head, "I've read some information on the official website, and I've heard some rumors from big shots. I feel that there's something fishy here, it's not as simple as it seems."

"So what? He's a gaming expert. Oh my, let's go upgrade instead. We've been holding off for too long." Priest was eager to level up.

"Let's watch a little longer." Sunshine Suifeng turned his head back and looked ahead. Moments later, surprise appeared in his eyes, "Huh, where did he go?"

Hearing Sunshine Suifeng's words, Priest also looked in the same direction. Chu You, who was previously slaying monsters, was nowhere to be found. The little demon pig was slowly heading in their direction.

An ominous feeling suddenly rose in their hearts.

Both of them were hiding behind a rock, using it as a cover to secretly watch Chu You, but now it was obstructing their view.

Sunshine Suifeng jumped up, his head over the rock, and saw an aggressive figure charging towards them, the eyes full of killing intent.

Sunshine Suifeng landed, and Priest, somewhat startled, asked, "Did you notice anything?"

"Dammit." Sunshine Suifeng muttered a curse.

As Priest was about to ask more, a tall and slim figure suddenly leaped out from above the rock.

With disbelieving eyes from Priest, Chu You landed behind them and instantly turned around with his training sword pointed at Priest.

With a stab, the tip of the sword was aimed at Priest's head.

A surge of red blood splashed out abruptly, and Priest cried out in pain.

Priest was dumbfounded. He had just cleared his negative emotions brought out by Chu You's arrogance, and now he was under direct assault by Chu You.

He glanced at his health bar, a third of his health was gone from one sword strike.

A fireball technique came flying from behind them. Chu You sensed the incoming spell and dodged the spell.

Priest finally reacted, but he hesitated as he had to remain stationary to cast a healing spell.

Chu You slashed Priest again, and another -50 damage appeared.

Sunshine Suifeng was desperate. It was his first time playing a virtual reality game, and the situation felt like a real murder scene.

"Idiot, run!" Sunshine Suifeng yelled.

"Neither of you will escape!" Chu You said coldly, and with another slash, Priest instantly fell limp on the ground, his eyes losing their light.

"Why are you doing this? We have no quarrel!" Sunshine Suifeng shouted, utterly incredulous. They were merely observing how an expert leveled up, they had no intention of disrupting Chu. How had things escalated to this point?

"You'll understand later. Now, die!" With swift sword strikes, Chu You attacked the still Sunshine Suifeng, finishing him off in moments.

Newbies didn't lose experience points or items upon death, but Chu You still made his move.

After everything, a faint red smoke emitted from Chu You, signaling his Red Name State.

Any player who saw Chu You now would receive a system alert, they could attack Chu You in the name of justice!

System alert: Your sin value +2.

Chu You's expression remained unchanged. It was as if he did something very ordinary before he returned to slaying the little demon pig.

Sin values could not be cleared, even if one's name returned from red to normal, the sin value would still exist, denoting your past crimes.

Chu You did this because Sunshine Suifeng and Priest had violated a principle close to his heart.

This principle began to circulate among top players in Celestial World, its origin unknown.

The principle was, any form of stalking was unacceptable regardless of reasons or excuses. Any stalker would be killed.

This principle was deeply imprinted in Chu You's heart.
