Generally speaking, high-level life forms are all energy bodies. For example, the Flame Beast within a star is a pure fire energy life form. There are also the Devouring Worms living in black holes and Radium Birds that absorb energy in quasar radiation. If they were flesh and blood beings, they might not withstand such extreme environments for even a moment.
Because flesh and blood life forms are inherently too fragile and have too many shortcomings. That's why the majority of life forms evolve towards becoming energy bodies when they reach a higher stage. Not only humans follow this pattern, but most other species do as well.
However, it is not to say flesh and blood life forms have no advantages; their evolution can go further than energy life forms. Because the plasticity, growth, and even carrying capacity of a genetic chain are far greater than that of simple energy particles.
