After escaping from the battlefield, Berg quickly found a water source using his abilities honed through long-term training.
It was a small creek, no wider than two meters at its broadest point. The water was shallow, less than fifty centimeters deep, and very clear.
Usually, where there's water, there's food; but it also means there could be hunters.
Berg cautiously observed from a large tree for a while and found no other presence. Only then did he climb down from the tree and quickly run toward the creek.
After eating the corpse-eating black beetle, there was an unpleasant taste in his mouth. Instead of drinking the water, the first thing he did when he scooped up the creek water was rinse his mouth.
