When the clan repelled the Count's attack back then, everyone was able to tell that it would only be a matter of time before the Count struck again.
There were a lot of military personnel garrisoning the perimeter around the clan's estate. Still, everyone knew very well that the military was probably useless when it came to taking on Count Dracula anyway.
The Count had proven his fearsome capabilities through those fights. He was someone who could take a direct hit from a shell and emerge unscathed, after all.
Fighters at such a level were utterly hopeless for regular armies to fight—even elite special forces—to take on.
Even an agency like the Special Task Force, which specialized in taking on cultivators, was able to do little against Count Dracula.
The best they were able to do was simply repel him.
