There were many reasons why they could wrap up the filming so quickly, such as the fact that all the shots were basically indoors, except for the driving scenes; or perhaps due to the cooperation during this period, the crew members all maintained a good working enthusiasm; of course, the main reason was still Samuel Jackson's and John Travolta's superb performances.
Heaven knows what got into these two guys; in most scenes, they would nail it in just two or three takes, and even in the most complex ones, the number of NGs (no-goods) wouldn't exceed single digits—it was truly baffling; the blue pills weren't even invented yet.
Such things actually don't need overthinking; some actors are just like that, suddenly hitting their stride as if struck by a pie falling from the sky, and then carrying others with them into the zone, thus speeding up the shooting process.
