Third person POV
Christian, Senior Chu, Ryuki, Xi, Xi Raya, and Rueder were all surrounded by monsters
specifically speaking mutated ants all
The ants individually were at the second layer of a level two warrior
The rows of ants closest to the group started
spitting a strong acid
The acid came from all sides
X was trying to think of how many portals could he make to catch each attack
He was also a bit scared of bugs in general since a kid so his stomach was also churning
His face showed all of this
(How many portals can I use at once...I think as many as I imagine right ?
Ewww those things looks disgusting, I don't want to touch them....
And their legs are really hairy.....)
All those thoughts were running inside of Christian's mind all at once while the attacks were already nanoseconds away from landing
His mind was a mess
(Damn out of time GATE !) X screamed in his mind with all of his will power
Many gates opened in front of him, but they weren't accurately placed
So attacks could and would get through
And no portals were made behind him at all
(I now see I where I have f*cked up) X mentally said on defeat and acceptance
X wasn't the only one who attempted to defend though
Everyone made or was about to make a defense but the most effective one was Senior Chu who just made a hemisphere barrier made out his yellow aura
All of them were shielded and no attacks got through
X sighed in relief
"What's the matter young man ? You didn't look your normal arrogantt self " Senior Chu said with a smirk
"I'm not arrogant, I just don't have a lot of tolerance." X responded with a shrug
"Well let's focus, we won't be able to keep the barrier up forever so let's think on what to do to get out of here." Xi Yi
"I have an idea, Chu, keep that barrier up for a moment." X said looking at Senior Chu
Senior Chu scoffed and said
"That's Senior Chu to you." Chu said with his chin up
"Doesn't matter." X said and started looking at his surroundings, turning away from Chu
"Senior Chu, please try to get along for now." Xi To said with a coldness that momentarily caught even Christian's non caring attention
Christian lifted his foot up and put it back down to activate a spell
a magic circle spread underneath the barrier
"Group transfer !" X shouted
X didn't need to do this he only needed to use the magic to make the magic circle, plus most high class mages enjoy shouting the names of their spells.
It is good for him to do things like this occasionally to help keep his secret as a esper in tact.
Christian brought the group back to almost within city range of Hong Kong
"What we're all the way out here ? You ignorant idiot, do you understand that we're on a schedule ?Do you-" Xi Raya started to shout
"Shut up and let me talk." X
"NO YOU LISTEN TO ME !" Xi Raya started screaming, tired of the disrespect that X didn't try to hide
"Cousin, stop talking for a minute and let him talk. If he could bring us back in an instant, he might be able to bring us back again." Xi Yi said and looked at Christian expectantly
"I could easily bring us back to any spot I've traveled before. So let's get ready... okay !"Christian looked right at Xi Raya. when he said okay like a cheerleader, only to embarrass her and make her feel stupid
Scene change
X used gate this time and opened a portal to a point just far enough from the ants, all the ants were in the general direction of in front of them
"Hey um, Traveler ?" Ryuki said
"What ?" X
"If you could use advanced magic like portal then why didn't you just make four big wall sized portals around us rather than trying to make a small hand sized portal for every acid attack that was spat at us ?" Ryuki asked
X was so surprised that he accidentally let out a surprised face and then looked down to the grass while thinking back
He could have just done that easily
When he looked back up Xi Raya was staring at him with a big smirk and her hands on her hips
"I have a better question, why are we even on foot instead of going in a car ?" X asked
"Because in case of ambush, we wouldn't be able to move as freely especially since we would all be in one enclosed space.
Though with your high mastery of spacial magic and I suppose that wouldn't be as much as a problem as we originally thought." Xi Yi said smiling and moving closer to everyone
"Now instead of trying to make each other look bad, how about we think about how not to get surrounded again." Xi Yi
Everyone took a quick glance at each other
(If I was alone I could just keep teleporting.) X thought to himself
"Well can any of us fly besides me ?" Ryuki said
"Oh yeah that's right you are a wind mage. Totally forgot." Christian responded
Ryuki looked at Christian in confusion
"How did you know that ?" Ryuki
"So you haven't seen the page for your assassination yet huh ?" X
Ryuki shook his head
"Well, you should." X said while smiling
amd nodding
"I obviously could teleport." X
"And I can fly as well." Chu
The three of us looked at the girls and Rueder
"We unfortunately don't have any transportation skills." Xi Yi
"Fine then. The girls and Rueder will stay with me and whenever we get surrounded, I'll teleport." X
"Good we'll separate for now. I can already feel them closing in and surrounding us now." Ryuki said and looked to the side
"Disperse !" Ryuki
Ryuki flew far south, Senior Chu flew far north, and Christian's group teleported far west
At the southernmost side of the battle area
Ryuki waited on the ants to draw near, once he was sure he flew into the air and summoned his chibi fairy "firefly"
clad in pink and black garments with big cartoonish pink rimmed eyes she came out and exclaimed
"GOOWAAAHH !"
The ants were now in view there looked like to be a crowd of at least 300 of them
"Okay firefly, let's let these ants have it.
Flame torrent !" Ryuki yelled then both him and firefly stuck there hands out and blew two large torrents of fire at the crowd
Far north
The old man known as senior Chu flew in the skies and occasionally flew in close to groups of the ants who chose to pursue him
What he seen from the ants behavior was what he expected, the closer the ants got to him the more they split up to surround him
(I see. So it was just as I suspected, well I have just the thing to protect myself.) Senior Chu thought to himself
He opened apart of his blue robes and dug into a pocket on the inside
He pulled out a sac
Chu rummaged through the sac and found multicolored stones with kanji on them
He threw them up into the air and then put up his index and middle fingers together on his right hand to his chest
"Inward trap array." He said and activated an array, he didn't actually need to say it out loud, it was just his style of doing things
A 5 story tall, yellow dome shaped barrier appeared, with Chu in the center along with many trees inside.
Some trees were tall enough to stick out of the barrier
The ants were making an appearance. They all appeared on different parts of the barrier
The ants piled in until there was no space
"Good, you are here. Parish." Chu said
He lifted his left hand in the air and a yellow ball of energy floating in front of his palm; grew at a rapid pace to a size bigger than a SUV
The ants closest to the barrier tried to back out so the other ants could try to escape the attack
They couldn't leave, they spat acid at it, the clawed their razor sharp legs at it, and even scratched the barrier with their harder than steel chompers on the barrier, but the barrier held strong
Reminder, there were around a hundred ants doing this at once.
"Ha ha, it's no use, my barrier is several times stronger than the average level four mage barrier. Ha !" The old man laughed
At this point the barrier was bigger than a one story house
Chu threw the ball of aura down with authority
Over to the west
The group appeared far west from the center of where they were originally attacked from
"So how exactly are we still supposed to keep from being surrounded ?" X thought he said under his breath
"Just like this, here take these talismans." Xi Yi said handing him four golden prices of paper
"Okay thanks." X said mindlessly
"Okay I think the best thing for us to do is for you to travel as far east as you can, then place the four in your hand over there.
This way we could all quickly teleport back and forth to keep from getting surrounded." Xi Yi
(I get it so that way the responsibility of escape and safety won't be just on me.) X thought to himself
"Try to do it right, our lives only depends on it." Xi Raya
"Okay, also try to contribute since you have done literally nothing all this time." Christian retorted with a big, very fake smile
Xi Raya's face flashed red
It was too late to say anything back.... because X disappeared
