Chapter 1 - The Experiment That Cost A Human Life

Three doctors entered in the observation room.

They were among senior doctors of this advanced hospital.

'It was said that if you are sick and no hope to recover, this hospital and the doctors could do a miracle'

The senior surgeon doctor looked at the sixteen years old girl resting on the hospital bed and smiled, she was wide awake and looking at these eddies of medicine and operation.

Even if they smiled for her but it was type of torture.

They come every day, check her reports, suggest few more tests and talk about the bush and leave.

Here she was always waiting that her father or her step-mother might visit today and when the day ended, she would think that they will come next day.

Her eyes made a line of drops and tears fell in a row, she was alone, no one to talk, she could not play with her friends, but they problem was she has no friends nor even enemies to relay on.

She could not join regular school because of her illness.

She regretted the day when she was brought first in this hospital.

The doctors took some tests and admitted her then this began as never ending routine.

Though the doctors did not explain about the real problem, they only tell that along with her heart, her other organs were losing its normal functioning with every passing day.

Her father was busy to consult with other hospital about her case.

He was expanding his business and it remained the same excuse.

Thus she was left all alone to fight with herself as well as her disease.

Her room has too partition, a small six years old child was admitted in the second partition.

A strong glass wall was there to create the partition.

Every after a day, this child would run from his bed and enter in her room, talk with her this and that and then went back.

This was only source of happiness for her.

The child was a heart patient with two coronary arteries blocked from his birth.

As soon as he saw that the doctor left both rooms.

He got up from his bed, today his mother was here and she brought a hygiene food for him, he took small amount and ran toward the adjacent room where Wu Jin Lan was resting.

"Hey big sister, the docs are gone, sit up and see what I brought for you," he happily put the small pot on the bed and tried his best to get up on the bed but the bed was little up for him to struggle.

Wu Jin smiled and jumped down from bed and helped him sit on it.

"Ahh, this crappy bed always remind me how small I am," the child pouted as always.

"The way your mother look after you, I am sure you will be soon strong young boy," Wu Jin lifted up her arms and patted with right hand on her left biceps.

"Haha, big sister, your biceps are imaginary," he laughed.

She was lean to have some health much less to have biceps.

The food that hospital provide was tasteless and not always for her liking while her step-mother never brought homemade meals for her.

She sighed and sat on the bed.

She was eager to taste the food he brought today and happily ate it while chatting with the child.

The child left after few minutes because his mother called him.

She was again left alone.

Today was weekend and doctors won't be coming anytime soon for almost whole day.

She was bored.

She stood up from her bed and left her room.

She wanted to go home and spend a day there then she will come back but she asked permission from doctors, they won't allow, they told that if her parents come and take her along for a day then they perhaps can give permission.

But how she call her parents and tell them that she was dying because of loneliness and not because of disease.

Today she made her mind to go home without taking any permission from doctors.

She was happy to see again her home.

...….

"Before your father come back home, get lost…" her step-mother pushed her out of the house.

She did not let her enter in the house.

"Mother, I ran from hospital just to stay at home for only one day, please let me in," she was crying.

She was tired to stare at the ceiling of the white washed ceiling of his hospital room, her step-mother did not come to see her once and it was already a moth that her father did not show up.

"Shut up and don't call me your mother," her step-mother scolded her.

She was feeling lonely.

"Mother, I am better now," she pleaded so that her mother could let her enter in the house where she used to play all day long with her biological mother.

But after her death, Wu Jin Lan suddenly fell sick and the doctors told that her heart and organs were losing their routine and she might become a permanent hospital visitor and this proved true.

Because of this, a large amount of her father earning was spent on her hospital expenditures.

Though her father never complained but her step-mother always showered her with painful glances and many times ridiculed and scorned.

"Get lost and never come back, you are simply a trash and your father is simply wasting his money on his trash daughter, you are also snatching the money that my child deserve," she scorned and spat out.

No matter what way she asked and cried, her step-mother did not let her enter the house.

Wu Jin Lan was broken to hear this, she walked back with heavy steps, her hospital long shirt swaying on her lean and thin figure.

.....

"We are checking her reports every day and the drugs we gave her are working on her slowly," inside a big room, ten over doctors were sitting, they were among those who checked Wu Jin every day.

"From previous seven years, we are treating her and I am amazed that her recovery system is hundred percent miraculous, though we are not actually treating," the man threw a file on the table.

Seven years ago when Wu Jin was brought here, she was not some serious patient, she fell unconscious because she walked back home from her school while it was too hot that day and she fell unconscious because of dehydration.

The doctors took few samples of her blood and few other tests when her father insisted.

He was worried for his daughter.

It was six months ago that his wife died suddenly and he was scared to see that her daughter was not well.

She was alright back then.

The doctors saw the reports and told her father to come after a month for a regular checkup of his daughter.

The formation of antigens and biological structure of her DNA was found strange according to the doctors, they wanted to study these changes initially.

But after two years of constant research and treatment, they found out that she bore some extraordinary traits.

What they called treatment was not actually treatment.

It was to test their theories.

Despite the fact that their so called treatment broke her health and she suffered but her immune system was like a powerhouse, never ready to admit defeat.

This was the reason that all these years they kept the test reports to themselves, they assured the father that she was their responsibility, and when her father married another woman, it seemed he left all his responsibility for these doctors who were devils in true sense.

They called themselves savior of humans but they were actually cruel to use a life of a child.

"She has no one to come and ask us how did she die?" a doctor who actually came from a lab argued.

"We only need to provide her death certificate and they will forget her," they were keeping eyes whether her parents were worried for her and or how often they come visit her?

But in these previous three months, no one bother to look for her.

"She is really forgotten by her parents," the other one who was a yes man nodded.

"Then can we shift her in the lab anytime soon?" the one who was impatient for this experiment asked.

Seven from these ten doctors don't belong to this hospital, they were from research lab, only two doctors who work behind the curtains for them were from this hospital.

They concluded that she was prepared now for the experiment.

The team from the lab wanted to implant artificial organs in her to check whether her immune system that was miraculous could accept and follow up with this change.

If the experiment went well then they could work on the same structure and formation of her blood and revolutionize the medical field to a new levels, in the field of artificial implantation of organs.

...…

She returned back but did not go to her hospital room, she forgot the winding path and lost in the corridors.

A door of small checking room was opened.

She entered the room but there was no one.

She wanted to ask the direction of room number 719.

She was standing at the opposite of the curtain and listened each and every word of these doctors.
