Chapter 2 - New Comer

("Uh, I don't feel an impact.") I thought. I opened my eyes, the car was gone. My eyes returned to the street lights, night sky, and... a man's chest? Realizing, I pushed him away startled, and stood up. He sat up as I was moving away. "You just saved me!" I exclaimed. "Did you get hit? Are you ok?" I asked. ("Hold on, an impact of that car would've been enough to kill me! How did he survive?!") Looking at him, he was actually, ok. "Wait, how are you not hurt?" I asked standing uprutively. "Don't be ridiculous." he sighed standing with me. He had black hair, a shade darker than mine, wearing a navy blue button up shirt, black pants, and shoes. "Ridiculous!? You just saved me from a speeding car!" I exclaimed. "You're just imagining things. I saw you trip and broke your fall. That's all." he said. "Anyways, take care." he said walking off in the opposite direction. "Wait!" I called. He turned around to look at me. "Can you at least tell me your name?" I asked flinging my hand at the wrist. "Chikao." he said then continued walking. As he disappeared from my sight I looked around. Nothing out of the ordinary. I took a deep shaking breath, and walked home. Stepping in my familiar house, something rubbed against my leg, my cat, Kazuay. "Hey, Kaz." I said kneeling down to him to stroke his orange fur. "You wouldn't believe what happened today." I told him the about the crazy guy who amazingly saved me. I sighed and walked to my room. He followed me and climbed onto my bed. "It's strange though," I said as I pulled out a tank top and pair of black shorts to sleep in. "It's strange that he was able to save me from the car, it was moving so fast, it could've killed me!" I said changing. As I spoke, it was almost like he was listening to me. His cat shaped eyes seemed to widen, but, his almost human-like expressions weren't new to me. Ever since I fed him, and he followed me home, he almost had human expressions, at first it was surprising, but I'm used to it. I slide under the blankets on my bed, and Kazuay moved for my legs. "Honestly, he was very handsome." I said with a half teasing smile. He looked away, with a jealous look on his face. "Aw, Kaz, are you jealous?" I teased. he didn't look back at me, confirming my guess. "Don't be jealous, Kaz. You're still a good looking cat." I said stroking his head. He turned, and pushed his head on my palm, licking it, showing he forgave me. As my mind drifted off into my dream world.
