Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: The Great And Powerful Trixie!

I'm taking a stroll around town. Need to move my hoofs. Although, why do I have a bad feeling? I look around again, making sure there's nothing. I sigh, my mind must be playing tricks. Taking a step forward, a wagon bumps into me. Sending me flying. Ouch!

I glance towards the wagon. It looks strangely familiar… Oh no… It's already episode 6… isn't it?

"Are you alright darling?"

Rarity helps me up. I dust off the dirt.

"Yeah, I'm fine. You know who's wagon that belongs to?"

"Oh, not sure. Let's go look shall we?"

Rarity and I walk into the crowd. A voice I'm familiar with sounds from the wagon.

"Come one, come all! Come and witness the amazing magic of the Great and Powerful Trixie!"

Trixie appears in a puff of smoke. This reminds me of the magicians back in my old world.

"Watch in awe as the Great and Powerful Trixie performs the most spectacular feats of magic ever witness by pony eyes!" Fireworks burst from her wagon that has turned into a stage.

Rarity looks on with annoyance. "My my my, what boasting."

"Come on, no pony is as magical as Twilight-" Spike becomes nervous after he makes eye contact with Rarity. "Oh! Um, hey Rarity! I, uh- moustache!" He sprints off in a hurry.

"There's nothing wrong with being talented is there?" Twilight asks.

"Nothing at all." AppleJack turns to Trixie and frowns. "Except when somepony goes around showing it off like a school filly with fancy new ribbons."

"Just because one has the ability to perform lots of magic does not make one better than the rest of us." Twilight looks hurt after Rarity said that.

RainbowDash speaks. "Especially when you have me around being better than the rest of us." AppleJack glares at her. "Uh, I mean… Yeah! Uh, magic smagic. Boo!"

"Well well well." Trixie speaks. "It seems we have some neigh sayers in the audience. Who is so ignorant as to challenge the magical ability of the Great and Powerful Trixie? Do they not know that they are in the presence of the most magical unicorn in all of Equestria?!"

Rarity snorts. "Just who does she think she is?"

Spike talks. "Yeah! Since we all know that Twilight-" I slap close his mouth with my wing. Twilight looks at me with thanks. I nod. Trixie shoots out more fireworks. Rainbow flies up to Trixie.

"So Great and Powerful Trixie, what makes you think you're so awesome anyways?"

Trixie scoffs. "Why? Only the Great and Powerful Trixie has magic strong enough to vanquish the dreaded Ursa Major!" A picture pops up to show how she thinks it looks like. Everypony stares in disbelief and amazement.

Trixie smirks. "When all hope was lost, the ponies of Hoofington had nowhere to turn to. But the Great and Powerful Trixie stepped in! And with her awesome magic, vanquish the Ursa Major! And sent it back to its cave, deep within the EverFree forest!"

I sigh… So many problems arise from what she said and so many plot holes… I'll just wait to tell it to her face. Snips and Snails, two ponies who live here in Ponyville, step forth. They are so gullible…

"Trixie truly is the most talented, most magical, most awesome unicorn in Ponyville." Snails said.

"No! In all of Equestria!" Snips corrected.

Spike looks annoyed. "How do you know? You didn't see it! and-" Twilight zips Spike's mouth. I also slap his mouth with my wing. Trixie laughs.

"It's true my enthusiastic little admirers. Trixie is most certainly the best in Ponyville!"

Everypony is silent. Trixie smirks with confidence.

"Don't believe in the Great and Powerful Trixie? Well then, I hereby challenge you Ponyvillians. Anything you can do, I can do better." She mocks the audience. "Any takers? Anyone? Or is Trixie destined to be the greatest equine who has ever lived?!" Fireworks fire again.

Spike pushes my wing off and unzips the zipper. He begs Twilight. "Please! She's unbearable. You gotta show her, you just gotta!"

Twilight looks at me, desperately. I nod. And pat Spike. "Why don't we wait to see how our friends will handle her first? Best to save the best for last right?"

Spike nods. Twilight sighs in relief. We watch on, waiting. Until Trixie points to Twilight.

"How about you?!" Twilight gulps as Trixie walks forth. "How about it, hm? Is there anything you can do that the Great and Powerful Trixie can't?"

I block Twilight from Trixie using my wing. Before she could speak, AppleJack steps forth.

"That's it. I can't stand for no more of this!"

"You show her AJ!" Spike shouts.

"Can your magical powers do this?!" AppleJack does tricks using a rope she had for some reason. It wows the audience. "Top that missy!"

Trixie looks on, unimpressed. "Oh ye of little talent, watch and be amazed at the magic of Trixie!" Trixie uses her magic to move the rope in a hypnotic manner. AppleJack becomes entangled by it, and having an apple shoved in her mouth. The audience is impressed. That's one down…

As AppleJack hops away in defeat, Trixie gloats. "Once again, the Great and Powerful Trixie prevails." RainbowDash flies in.

"There's no need to go strutting around and showing off like that!"

"Oh?"

"That's my job!" Rainbow flies off to perform her awesomeness. She comes back, rain following her. A rainbow appears above RainbowDash. "They don't call me Rainbow and Dash for nothing!" The audience cheers.

Trixie smirks. "When Trixie is through, the only thing they'll call you is loser." Trixie uses her magic to spin RainbowDash with the rainbow. This causes her to become sick. Everypony cheers. That's another down...

"Seems like anypony with a dash of good sense would think twice before tussling with the Great Trixie." Trixie forms a small cloud. And before she could shock RainbowDash, I twirl my wing towards her stage instead. Zapping her hat instead. Everypony stares at her, confused. Trixie coughs, acting as if that didn't just happened.

Spike frowns. "What we need is another unicorn to challenge her!" Spike turns to Twilight. "Somepony with some magic of her own?" Rainbow agrees.

"Yeah! A unicorn to show this unicorn whose boss!"

"A real unicorn to unicorn tussle." AppleJack hints.

As Twilight hesitates, Rarity steps forth.

"Enough. Enough all of you. I take your hint, but Rarity is above such nonsense. RainbowDash and AppleJack may behave like ruffians, but Rarity conducts herself with beauty and grace."

"Ooh. What's the matter?" Trixie mocks. "Afraid you'll get a hair out of place in that rats nest you call a mane?"

"Oh it is on!" Rarity gets on stage. "You may think you're tough with all your so called powers, but there's more to magic than your brutish ways. A unicorn needs to be more than just muscle." Rarity uses her magic to instantly put on a fancy dress. "A unicorn needs to have style. A unicorn is not a unicorn without grace and beauty."

"Rarity won't let Trixie get the best of her! She's strong, she's beautiful, she's-" Trixie uses her magic to do an unspeakable act. Everypony stares at Rarity, not sure if they should tell her. Rarity shouts.

"Quick! I need a mirror! Get me a mirror! What did she do to my hair? I know she did something terrible to my hair!"

"Nothing." Twilight lies.

"It's fine!" Rainbow lies.

"It's gorgeous!" AppleJack lies.

"It's green…" Spike states. We glare at him. "What?"

"No! Green hair?! Not green hair! Such an awful, awful color!" Rarity runs off, I rub my mane. Somepony else is also offended. Twilight speaks.

"She doesn't really mean that… "

"I know…" I say.

"Well Twilight, guess it's up to you!" Spike points to Trixie. "Come on, show her what you're made of!"

"What do you mean? I'm nothing special…"

"Yes you are! You're better than her!"

"I'm not better than anypony!"

"Ha! You think you're better than the Great and Powerful Trixie?" Trixie smirks at Twilight. "You think you have more magical talent? Well come on, show Trixie what you got! Show us all!"

"Who me? I'm just your run of a mill citizen of Ponyville." Twilight slowly backs off. "No powerful magic here… I- uh, think I hear my laundry calling. Sorry, gotta go." She runs off. Spike looks on, sad. Trixie laughs.

"Once again, the Great and Powerful Trixie has proven herself to be the most amazing unicorn in all of Equestria!"

Before she could turn around, I shout. "Hold up!" Trixie turns to look at me. "And that's where you're wrong!"

"And what might you mean little pony? I have just proven myself, there was never any doubt."

"Well there is a load of doubt in me! First of all, why did the ponies of Hoofington have no pony else to turn to? Did they say that they didn't have anypony?"

"It's because I posses powerful magic to vanquish the Ursa Major!"

"Oh? And what magic did you use to vanquish it? Cause, from what I see, you've only displayed magic tricks used in a foals party!"

"Well, I can't show it to you. It's only used for dire circumstances. Not to impress nonbelievers."

"And there's another thing that just doesn't add up. Why didn't the ponies in Hoofington just call Celestia? She could have vanished that Ursa Major!"

"That's because I just happened to be there and Celestia was all the way in Canterlot! There wasn't any time for her to arrive."

"Celestia can just teleport there! She had enough time to help! And why did the ponies in Hoofington trust you? Cause, as you said to me, you only use that magic in dire circumstances. So they didn't have proof that you can even help them!"

"Well! Well! Enough! The Great and Powerful Trixie has grown tired of arguing. I need my beauty sleep. Be gone with you all!"

Everypony disburse. I glare at her as she enters her wagon. When she closes the door, I huff. Just wait until tonight…
