"Please do not speak now. You have to rest and wake up later. We are going to wait for you to wake up, your family" His father spoke to his mother.
His mother looked at them again lovingly. "There's nothing I could wish more." She looked at him in the eyes. "Grow up as brave nobleman, serving your kingdom with dignity and loyalty, can you promise that for me?"
He nodded with sincerity, looking at the clear blue eyes of his mother. He can see his reflection through her eyes. "I will, mother."
She smiled at him and patted his hand that was holding her hand. Then, she stretched her hands towards Viis. The girl reached her mother's hands and kneel beside her bed. He and his father moved away to give her a place beside his mother.
"And to my lovely daughter." She looked straight to her eyes. "Remember what I always taught you."
The girl nodded.
"You will grow as the great seer, not only among our kinds but also this kingdom. Someday, you will be sought for your wisdom and ability." His mother whispered to her daughter.
He and his father only watched. He couldn't understand what was her mother was saying to his sister. He glanced at his father but his father was not bothered at the words of his mother, instead, he looks proud looking at his daughter who was receiving their mother's blessing.
"Both of my children will be great and will work together for this kingdom. You two will help each other." She said to them. It sounded more like a prophecy than a request from both of them.
Mokabe doesn't know what can her mother do as a sorcerer but the way she was speaking to them make him look high upon her.
His mother requested the two of them to leave the room first as she wanted to talk to his father.
He and Viis went out of the room. He did not know how he was going to talk to his sister. He sat nervously at the dining table.
"Um...I did not know this place exists. It is well hidden." He said trying to start a conversation with his sister.
Instead of answering him, his sister snorted and pour herself a glass of water. Then pour one for him and set the glass in front of him.
He looked at her a little confused. "T-thank you." He drank the water she gave him.
"This is where our father hid us for a very long time," she said and sat down across him. "Because your kind said my mother is a witch." She made a disgusted face.
"I'm not one of them!" He immediately retorted. "I do not see any wrong with mingling with other kinds of creatures as long as they are not hurting each other. Our father feels that same way too." He explained himself to her. "Besides, she is my mother too, so I am the same as you."
Viis looked at him, looking for sincerity on his face for what he said. "I heard you are friend with the future king?" she asked him changing the topic.
He nodded, thinking about his childhood friend Sentrin, the kings's son. Because they have the same age, they grew close to each other. His father brought him whenever he visits the palace so he goes and plays with the king's son. They studied together and had trainings together.
"So you're going to be working inside the palace then?" she asked once again.
"How about you? You should come down to Akijam." He asked her back, ignoring her questions.
"I am not going there. Besides, mother is here."
"What if..."
"Even if mother dies, I will not go." She read the question in his mind. "I will continue to learn sorcery and be great on it." She said with determination.
He and his father stayed at the cave till the next day when his mother peacefully passed away. The three of them mourned and buried her in a grave near the entrance of the cave.
At first, his father convinced Viis to go back with them in Akijam, but she refused. At her young age, she assured their father that she will be safe staying in the cave.
He felt sad when they left the mountain because he doesn't know when he will be able to go back again. He did not notice how but he had grown a feeling of attachment to the sister he just met.
He and his father walked down the mountain path because the carriage that they fist rode when they came up was already gone and to avoid someone seeing them and get suspicious of what they were doing in the mountain.
He did not know that the mountain that they just went to was the infamous Budi Mountain. He heard rumors that the mountain was cursed and that bad spirits were lurking in its forests. It was only today that he learned that the mountain was protected from unwanted intruders by a spell cast by her mother to protect them by being discovered.
He admired his father on his braveness to protect his family despite the knowledge that he will be punished if their kind will know that he had associated himself with the sorcerer.
That was the last time he visited the Budi mountain although he knew that his father was visiting his sister there whenever he has time.
After seven years, his father was accompanying the king in his visit to the kingdom Ahotar, a neighboring kingdom, south of Akijam. A group of unidentified creatures attacked them and killed their party. The king and his father died on that ambush.
His friend ascended to the throne as the king of Akijam and he became his advisor. With the purpose to avenge the killing of both of their parents. He and king Sentrin devised a plan to conquer the land of Ahotar. They believed that the attack on their father's party that time was planned to severe the good ties of the two kingdoms.
For two years, they trained and prepared their army to attack the kingdom of Ahotar. And during the weakest time of Ahotar, they executed a surprised attack on the kingdom. Capturing their king and his whole family. Making the kingdom under the sovereignty of the king Akijam.
He advised king Sentrin at that time to marry Ahotar's king's daughter to unify the two kingdoms. Which the king agreed and married the daughter of the king of Ahotar. With the marriage, the two kingdoms were unified. This made the kingdom of Akijam expand its territories and became powerful.
Within only three years, the kingdom was able to conquer the land of the elves and fairies. Under the reign of king Sentrin with him on his side, the kingdom of Akijam became prosperous and powerful. The elves became slaves to the gods and the fairies. He was appointed by king Sentrin to be a member of the counsel of Ednir.
During their quest to the other kingdoms, Mokabe met a fairy named Amiya. When they conquered the land of fairies, he took Amiya to Akijam. He liked the fairy, however, she was a captured servant and he is not allowed to marry a captured servant according to the ethics of the counsel of Ednir, which he is a member. So, he made Amiya as a servant in his house so he can see her every day.
Amiya agreed to work as a servant to Mokabe's house so they can be together. Although she works as a servant, Mokabe the house master treated her well along with the other servants in the house.
One night Mokabe was feeling restless in his room. He had the feeling that he needs to see Amiya immediately but he held himself. He just arrived from a four day trip with the king. He knew he was tired but he couldn't make himself sleep. The night was already late.
He decided to make a tea for himself and walked to the kitchen. He was startled when he saw Amiya in the kitchen.
"What are you doing here?" He asked looking at her beautiful face. He suddenly realized that he missed this beautiful face. For the four days that he did not see her face, he missed it so bad. It must be the reason why he was being restless in the middle of the night.
"I am just taking some water, my lord," Amiya answered in a low voice. "Do you need anything? I can do it for you." She volunteered.
"I'm here to get some tea." He spoke in a low voice. Not wanting to wake up the other servants. This was his moment to have some alone time with Amiya. He does not want to ruin it by waking up the whole household.
"I can prepare it for you, my lord." She said and began to boil water.
He thought for a minute and looked at the beautiful face once again. The thought of caressing her soft cheeks and claiming her thin lips crossed his mind. "Just bring it to my room then." He said and walk away, going straight to his room. He will take this opportunity to spend time with her, alone. Only two of them, where nobody can see.
Amiya nodded to her master's order and prepared the cup for his tea.
After waiting for some time, he heard a faint knock, just enough for him to hear and not to awake the whole household. He went to the door and open for Amiya to step inside.
Amiya quietly stepped inside her master's bedroom and put the tea in the table in the corner of his bed.
Mokabe sat in the bed and watched Amiya as she carefully set his tea on the bedside table. He looked at her delicate movement. "How are you Amiya?" He softly asked while he took the tea she prepared and took a sip.
Amiya stood up straight in front of Mokabe and answered with her soft and shy voice. "I've been good, my lord. Thank you for asking."
Mokabe can not move his eyes away from that beautiful face. She is a fairy after all. Her blue eyes surrounded by long and curly lashes were able to convey a different kind of emotions, happy, sad and longingness. Yes, he saw the longing in her eyes.
Even if Amiya does not tell him, he knew that Amiya liked him too. He frequently see those beautiful pair of eyes looking at him dearly or stealing quick glances at him whenever he is around the house. He knew that their feelings are mutual, they just don't have the freedom to express it however they wanted it to be.
His eyes stopped at her beautifully sculpted lips. He breathes a heavy sigh.
Amiya just stood in front of her master watching him stare at her face. She stared back at the handsome face of his master. Although she had already memorized his master's face, she was still mesmerized to see it closer. She knew that her master was one of the most powerful gods in the kingdom, being a member of the counsel of Ednir and a close acquaintance of the king. She also heard that there were some daughters of the nobles that wanted to be his wife, making her feel insecure. The only assurance that she was holding on was that he brought her to his house and he isn't interested in those noble's daughters.
He stood up and closed the gap between him and Amiya. He raised his hand and caressed her left cheek. It feels so soft and smooth in his hand.
She raised her hand and held his hand that's caressing her cheek. She pressed his hands against her cheek.
"Amiya..." he couldn't hold himself any longer. The longing he held for so long was threatening to explode looking at the woman holding his hands to her cheek. He bent down to kiss her on her lips while his other hand lifted up her chin.
Amiya did not hold out as well. She wished to express her feelings towards Mokabe by kissing him back when he kissed her. She let him hold her on her waist to stabilize her standing as she started to feel weak in her bones.
Mokabe slide his one arm around Amiya's waist and made the kiss deeper. He parted those tasty lips and bravely conquered her mouth with his tongue exploring every part of it. It tasted good in his tongue. He felt her arms cling to his neck as her body became boneless in his kiss and embrace.
Their lips parted but their eyes were sticking with each other, talking in their silent language of love and longingness.
