Owle led me to this huge cave system where the entire pack was staying, there were dead ends which the pack used as dens. "Where's my father?" I demanded, not trusting this elf at all until I saw or smelled my father. Just then I picked up a scent, the scent of my father's blood. I ran as fast as I could, following the scent to a dead end with a huge pond inside, Father was swimming in the water to wash the blood off his fur. "Father!" I yipped, running towards him.
"My beautiful baby girl!!" Father barks, swimming to the edge of the pond and climbing out. He walks towards me with a slight limp.
I run over to him and nuzzle him. "Father, what happened?" I ask, whimpering with worry.
"We were attacked by another pack. Luckily I was the only one to get injured. It will heal in due time my precious daughter." Father says, licking my snout.
"I can heal you I just need to-" I start to say before Father bites my ear to get me to be quiet. That's when I remember that Owle is there.
"Last I checked Wolves have no powers." Owle says, narrowing his sapphire blue eyes at me. I whimper and back up against Father, immediately regretting my decision to speak in the language of all creatures that live in Faelandia. "So tell me, what exactly can a Wolf do? They can hunt and kill and they're heartless towards other species." Owle says as he pets Hedwig.
I immediately snarl, narrowing my eyes at this forest dwelling Elf. I then begin to shift before his very eyes. "If Wolves are heartless towards the rest of the world then tell me, how do I exist?" I tilt my head a little and continue, "How does a Witch have a Wolf pup? It's quite simple, they fall in love. Now you insult my own family by saying that Wolves are heartless creatures! My name is Rudina Rieka Bellatrix! The first and only Witchwolf in all of Faelandia!" I begin to chant a spell in the old Fae Tongue but just then Owle has his hand over my mouth.
"Shhh! My parents are coming and I'm gonna need you to shift back to your Wolf form before they get in here." Owle whispers. I nod and he releases me. I quickly shift back to my Wolf form and sit next to Father and lick his wounded leg. Just then, two Elves entered the room.
"Owle! Why did you bring these heartless creatures here?!" The female Elf shouts. I narrow my neon yellow eyes and begin to snarl.
"Mother, do not upset her, she is very protective of her family and hates being called heartless." Owle says, motioning towards me. "She's very sensitive about those things. Besides their pack was being attacked by others of their kind, I couldn't watch them starve and try to fight off the other Wolves without doing something to protect them. You say that we must protect the creatures that live in the forest. Well these Wolves just lost their territory and could barely find any food to eat so I brought them all here. Please forgive me." Owle adds, kneeling on the ground in front of the two Elves.
"They can stay until the cold season is over or until they regain their strength. Who is their Alpha?" The male Elf asks looking at me and my father. Owle points at both me and my father.
"The male is the Alpha but he is injured and I believe that the female is his daughter making her the next Alpha of the pack." Owle says.
"Follow me you two." The male Elf says, leading Father and I into what appears to be some sort of kitchen but since the Elves aren't as advanced as the Witches are, they don't have the same cooking devices that Mother has. I look around the kitchen and tilt my head, pretending like I've never seen a kitchen before. I haven't seen an Elven kitchen before so it wasn't very hard to pretend.
"This is a kitchen where we cook our food." The female Elf says. I look around in awe.
