The others watched on as the young Elf prince and the hybrid stared into each other's eyes.
'And what about me? Does your love include putting me in misery?' Astrid asked in her mind.
'You know I did not mean that. Without you, there is no me, Astrid. I am sorry I was selfish.' He apologized and she understood.
'You were. And so was I.'
'I see we were both wrong, weren't we?'
She was just about to respond when his father's voice pulled them back to the matter at hand. "I am glad and sorry all the same. And for that," he faced Astrid squarely. "I am sorry, your highness."
To everyone's surprise, Regin bowed before her. A king, the elven king, bowed before a mere princess.
Immediately, all elves on the battlefield lowered their heads and went to their knees.
A sad smile flashed in Blade's eyes and he was about to do the same thing when he heard her voice loud and clear in his mind.
