"How did I get here in a few seconds?" Was the question that kept plundering her mind. The next thing...
"Aerrrchim" she sneezed.
He shot his head up at once and looked in her direction.
Eyes opened wide, shocked!
(They stare at each other for a few seconds, before Jareth dashed on her and hugged her close.
"Astrid, you're awake! You're awake!" He kept on hugging her.
"Yes I am awake. Why are you so umm... "
Noticing the awkward situation they were in, he quickly let go and sat down straight next to her.)
It was just her thoughts. Reality broke her from her trance when he stated flatly, "You're awake!"
"Couldn't he at least pretend to be worried" she thought to herself.
At first he had that shocked expression, then quickly it changed to one of relief. As soon as that showed, it vanished to his normal expression.
Astrid sits up as she scanned her surroundings. As her eyes locked on the two figures at the opposite end, a white thing rushed into her embrace.
It nuzzled up so tight in her arms. She was shocked at first, but after some seconds she calmed down as she held it so close.
*Astrid's POV*
For some reason it felt emotional, what was wrong, why were they all like this? For all I knew, I passed out right after the...
Realization kicked in. I tried recalling the last events that occurred, everything happened so fast, one moment I was switching between the leader about to attack White-Fire and the man with the fire burnt hand trying to kill me.
Then the vines were weakening and another man coming my way. My hold on my magic was slipping, I called for Jareth's help and just as he was running to save White-Fire, his attacker threw a dagger at him.
I winced and shuddered a little at the thought. I didn't think it was noticeable until I opened my eyes. I saw Jareth's eyes locked on me, little White-Fire in my arms raised his head to peak at me and the big White-Fire had a questioning gaze.
"What is wrong?" Jareth asked.
"Nothing" he gave me that face of 'don't lie to me'. Surprisingly, so did little White-Fire, but its was rather cute than the actual intended.
"Urrgh okay, but first how long was I out? A few hours or a day?" I asked not so sure, cause my body felt a little bit sleepy and tired, yet energetic.
It was weird in a lot of ways. I would feel my powers flowing, like a magical stream. So serene and calm, I felt energetic but this body of mine felt like sleeping for another few hours or a day.
I know I shouldn't say that as we would behind schedule, not like we are not already behind schedule since I blacked out but still... Jareth would kill me, verbally of course.
What he said next, I couldn't have prepared my mind for that.
"Four days!"
"Four what!" I exclaimed in shock.
Are you kidding me! I was out for four good whole days. What was I, dead? That would be the longest I had blacked out for.
Its not like I do black out often, but even when I was poisoned by that arrow. It was at most a day, and now you tell me four days?
Wait four days and this young man didn't seem worried. Is it just me or is he dense or what!
No that shouldn't be my thought right now. I can't even seem to gather my thoughts, this is terrible.
I looked up and noticed the worried look on everyone's face. Little did I know I was making all manner of facial expressions as I thought.
They probably think I am crazy now. I couldn't calm down, it was not until she spoke I relaxed.
"Shhh, stop your raging thoughts child" her voice held a calm like no other, immediately my thoughts calmed down.
"You are making weird expressions on your face, you would scare them" she added.
I looked up at her and she only nodded. She sure was a magical creature. Finally, I could now face Jareth.
"I was out for that long huh! Can you tell me what really happened, cause everything seems so hazy right now" I tried to think as I said those words to him.
Tried to recall what had happened before the dagger hit their target. What really happened, as I thought back, I got a terrible headache immediately I let go of the powers surging through me.
I cried out, the pain was sharp. It was at this time I saw Jareth's care. He rushed forward and held my shoulders.
Little White-Fire quickly leapt out of my hold as my hands left him to hold my head.
"Astrid!" Jareth said while shaking my shoulders.
"My head hurts Jareth" the banging continued, it felt as though my head would explode.
Quickly, Jareth stopped shaking me. "Astrid, Astrid!" He called but I was slowly closing my eyes, the pain, everything was just too...
Hands dropped.
